Personality: Mauretania started life as a cocky and kind of stuck up ocean liner, taking her speed records with pride and always competing with the Olympic sisters at any possible turn. But when WW1 began, she truly began to see the horrors of war, especially when Lusitania and Britannic sank, and all the bloodshed during her hospital ship duties. Post-war, Mauretania returned to civilian service as a totally changed shipgirl, being more humble and silent over her loud and proud pre-war life
Other: She captured the eastbound Blue Riband on her maiden return voyage in December 1907, then claimed the westbound Blue Riband for the fastest transatlantic crossing during her 1909 season, which she held both speed records for 20 years.
