Epilogue: Love you, Mr Mom

Elijah's POV

Sidney looks at me in bewilderment and I just give him a smile. I know it's all shocking to him but then I wanted to do this for him, at least this since he had done so much for us. I still remember his words when he said how his father wished he could join a well reputed company and to see him in a suit as a professional employee. Since the time Sidney told me that during our trip, those words got registered in my mind and they never once left. And I knew I have to make it happen not just to make him happy but actually to make his parents happy and proud of him.

When he turns, he sees my parents clapping at him with wide smile while his parents watch him with proud smiles, especially his father. And seeing that I know I did right. I fulfilled his father's wish and dream of what and how he wanted to see Sidney as.

"Since this gathering is a surprise for Sidney, he isn't prepared to address you all at the moment so we'll arrange another meeting in a day or two and interact with him." I say so as not to bombard Sidney with too many things at once. The others in the room nod at my words, "that's all then. Thank you."

How quickly the meeting started, just like that it comes to an end too and people start leaving. When it's only our family left, our parents come to us.

"I'm so happy for you Sidney, congratulations." Mom and dad congrats him while he just stands stoic.

After them, I see his parents walking to him. They stand in front of him and his father gazes at him with proud smile before he hugs him.

"I'm so proud of you, Sidney. You finally fulfilled my dream of seeing you how I wanted to see you." Though he don't say the words out loud, I could hear him.

When they pull away, he stares at Sidney with a big smile and pats his shoulder. His mother as well hugs him and kisses him on the forehead.

"Thank you, Elijah, you really did all this to make us see Sidney how we wanted to see him. We're so happy that Sidney got to be with you and great full for you." Sidney's father thanks me.

"Don't say that, uncle. I just did what I need to do." I shake my head at him.

"Come on, Davies. Let's go, we'll show you around the office." Dad says to Sidney's parents who nods at him, "Elijah, we're going around."

When dad informs me, I nod at him and they walk out of the room leaving Sidney and I. I grab Sidney's hand and lead him to the chairs as we take our seats. He's still confused and not saying anything and I know I'm the one that needs to talk, not him.

"Sidney." I call him out so that he looks at me.

"Eli, I don't understand what just happened. Why am I working here? I don't have enough qualifications or experience to be a manager in the company." Sidney mumbles, his eyes finally focusing on me.

"Now Sidney, I want you to calm down and relax. I know you don't have qualifications nor experience for the post but also you're not really going to work here as a full time employee. The first and main reason as why I decided to appoint you as the manager here is because of what you told me during the trip. You said your father wanted to see you get settled down as a professional person and lead a happy life. Though you're leading a happy life, the dream of your father is left a side since you married me. Maybe you immediately didn't join a job rather wanted to help your parents at bakery but you know at a point in life you were going to do what your father wished for and make his dream come true. But then you got married to me and that too for your parents sake."

"Though you won't voice it out, that particular feeling will always be stuck in your mind where would you feel bad for not able to fulfill your father's dream. So I thought about it and decided to make it come true. As now we joined the babies in school, you'll have some free time in hand during which you can come here and learn few things. Since I'm the CEO, would I want my husband to be a normal employee here? Of course not, so I wanted to appoint you as a manager to the department which is related to your studies. I spoke the same with dad and we came to this decision."
