Sidney's POV
"God! Sidney, stop crying. It doesn't look like the babies are joining the school rather looks like it's you who is forcefully send to school." Elijah whispers and I glare up at him to find him shaking his head while holding his head.
"You don't understand, Eli. Everyday, you go to the office in the morning and get back home at night. You don't spend so much time with the babies but I'm not like that. My whole day revolves around them and now they won't be at home during the day. Tell me what should I do? Smile and clap in happiness?" I sniffle and look back to the babies.
"Not whole day, Sidney. It's only for half day, barely 4 fours. They'll be back home before you even know." Elijah tries to make me understand.
"Shut up, Eli! You don't understand. Just get away from here, you're disturbing our moments and wasting our time." I snap at Elijah for insisting.
"That's a little harsh!" Elijah mumbles and I stare at him angrily.
"Isn't it harsh that you decided to join our tiny little babies in school? Look at them, they're still so small and can't even do anything on their own. They need me, Eli. Let's take them back home. We can join them next year or next to next year." I try to convince Elijah, hoping he'll maybe understand.
"No, you are saying the same thing since I told you I'll join them in school and my answer remains same. I'm going to join them in school this year, they're at the right age, Sidney. If we delay now an year gets wasted unnecessarily. Look at the children around you, they're all the same age as Sky and River, aren't they coming to school or aren't their parents sending them to school. Education is important and I'm not going to delay it for any reason. I do understand you just don't want to send them away from you even if it means a minute but this is unavoidable and has to happen." Elijah says sternly and I give him a glare before turning my face from him.
"Mama, sky miss you." Sky whispers as he steps forward and hugs me with his tiny hands wrapping around me.
"Yes, yes...mama, miss miss you." River tags along with Sky as he too hugs me.
"I'm going to miss you both so much, my babies." I wail as I hug them both together.
"Enough, Sidney, it's time for them to go in." Elijah meddles in and separates us.
"You're going to regret this, Elij" I warn him and stand up from kneeling, "babies, if you don't like it here or want to get back home or to me, just tell the miss to call me. I'll come and take you away immediately."
"That's not what you should tell them, Sidney." Elijah interferes again, "come on boys, let's go."
He holds Sky's hand and starts walking to the entrance. I too hold River as I follow them. Elijah is stubborn and strict on certain things. And wants do it mandatory if he made plans.
It's been more than an year since our marriage and now that the babies are going to reach 3 years in few months. Elijah decided to join them in school saying it's the right age and also now it's the time for the admissions. So if we don't join them now, we will have to wait for an year and according to him it's a waste. But then I'm trying to make him think otherwise since my kids are so small and are still babies yet. He just don't understand though and doing what he wants to do.
"Bye, dada. See you night." Sky hugs Elijah and bids him bye with a smile before he comes to me, "bye, mama."
I hug him again and shower him with kisses before doing the same to River.
"Bye, boys. Since it's just your first day I'm not going to say study well or anything. Just try and cope up with others. See you in the evening." Elijah tells them as we finally reach the class room.
"We will take care of them from here, sir." Before we could enter in, the lady standing at the door says to which Elijah nods.
"Thank you." He thanks and the lady smiles.
She holds the hand of each of them on either side and takes them inside. I wave my hand at them even though they're not looking at me.
"Shall we go now?" Elijah's voice makes me stop the weaving of my hand and turn to look at him.
When Elijah asks me, I give him a glare before walking away.
"Sidney, what's wrong?" He queries as he comes behind me.
"I'm angry at you, Eli. My babies, oh! I already miss them." I almost cry just at the feeling of missing them.
"Come here," Elijah pulls me to the play garden and makes us sit while facing each other, "Sidney, it's all how life goes on. These things are unavoidable and you have to understand that. Think if they don't get proper education at proper time, their personality will be rotten and the behaviour will be worst. And once they reach that stage, we can't do anything to correct them. People like us, with money and fame, most times neglect this part of their children's life which will always effect them at the end. Education is important, Sidney, so as the values, morales and believes and these things will be well taught in school which helps our boys to grow up well. It's not that you don't teach them all those at home but being in a classroom with other kids is different. School and college life is different and I want them to experience all those. I understand it's hard for you to part with them even for a certain period of time but then slowly things will get better. First you should make up your mind, you understand what I'm saying, right?"
"I understand, Eli." I sigh as I know I'm being a bit dramatic but I just couldn't help, "fine, I'll do my best and give you all the support that you need."
"Thank you," he thanks with a smile while holding my hand and squeezing it to which I smile at him in return, "let's go now."
Nodding at him, we leave the school premises and walk to the parking lot where our car is parked. Seeing us, the driver opens the door for us and once we sit in, he closes it back before going to his seat. He starts the drive and I relax in my seat while adjusting my tie.
"You're too much, Eli. You made me wear a suit just to bring our kids to school." I shake my head and try to remove the tie when he stops me.
This morning before we started, I was going to wear some casual tee and pants but he insisted that I wear a formal suit.
"Let it be, we'll take it off after going home." I look at him surprised but leave it as he said.
The drive goes on and I rest my back by leaning against the seat and close my eyes. Though I didn't sleep, I didn't knew for how long we travelled but then I open my eyes when Elijah called me out.
"We reached home?" I ask and get down the car when the driver opens the door.
As I step down and stand, I get taken back when I see a huge building in front of me instead of our house.
"Eli, isn't this your office?" I question as he comes next to me, "why are we here?"
"Come, let's go in first." Without answering my question, he grabs my hand in his and walks us into the building.
Entering in, we get greeted by all the employees to whom Elijah nods in return while I watch in confusion. He takes me to an elevator and towards the floor where I think his office is and when we reach the floor, we step out. He leads to the door at the corner outside of which is decorated with all the flowers and balloons as if a party is going on.
"Is there some party, Eli and that's why you brought me here?" He smiles when I ask him and I frown because he's not answering me.
When we stand at the door, the guard standing there, opens the door and as we step in I get shocked to see my parents, in law's and few other people in proper professional attire. I gulp down with each step taking towards them as Elijah walks us to the podium at the centre.
"Hello, everyone. Sorry for being a little late but let's start the gathering now. As I already informed everyone of you, this is Sidney Walker, my husband and the new manager for the procurement department. Since it's his first time working, hope you all help him and support him." Elijah address the gathering earning claps from everyone while I stand in utter shock.
Me? Manager? And working here?
