A kiss

A longing gaze from a stranger,
A moment more stranger.
Something to get the heart beating in your ears
And the heavens nearer

But from you, dear, I beg nothing more than a kiss,
For that itself possesses more life than all lives that live.

Millennial glances, yet you grin so young and well,
What soul is so raw, so undressed?
Foolish to question,
foolish  to guess.
A you that's eons older and eons newer than the rest.

From afar is all anyone can see you from.
Closest to home, you, we're mere guests.
Innocence and knowledge,
life and death,
All untimely but also time itself.

Selfish and deluded,
Now I come to you to beg, confess
For you I yearn,
I want everything you possess, but if only,
If you let me,
A peck.
