"DARLING, YOU'RE NOT TELLING ME SOMETHING," Jasper says as he enters their bedroom, with a wondering look on his face.
Eloise turns around with a sigh but with a smile on her face, "Why do you know me so much?"
"I just do," Jasper says as he places a kiss on her forehead, rubbing but of her shoulders as she faces him.
"It has been a delightful time with your family, love. They treated me as a family, and I deeply appreciate everything-" Eloise hastily says, but Jasper grabs her hand and holds it firm yet gentle.
"-But?" Jasper asks as he tries to calm her down by soothing her fingers. Eloise gives him a knowing look as he chuckles, tucking a stray strand of golden hair behind her ear.
"But I can't stay here," Eloise tells him, her voice soft, her eyes looking at him as if trying to make him understand why she couldn't stay. "I built a life in New York, all on my own, I have a job that I love, and I'm a member of a theater band an-"
"I'll go with you." Jasper sternly says with no hesitation as he tilts her chin up, eyes focused on hers. Eloise blinks rapidly with his fast answer and stammers.
"You don't have to do that, and you can't leave your family,"
"Our family, they are our family, darling."
Eloise smiles.
"-And I've been with them for decades. It's our time to be together, we've been separated for a long time, and I don't want us to be separated again. I'll go with you. I'll go with you everywhere for as long as you want me to."
And Eloise never felt so wholly complete until now. She has Jasper, a new family, Charlotte, and Peter, is part of UNICEF and is a member of the opera orchestra, and life couldn't get any better than what she has now.
And she finally found the meaning of life and its wonderful, perfectly imperfectreason for existing.
That Eloise and Jasper love each other on purpose.
