i showed the bouncer my id. as i have for the last couple of weeks, i was let in for free.
i made my way into the club. i walked over to the bar, and i took a seat in my usual seat. my brows furrowed though as i saw that the bartender tonight was not billie, but instead some dude that i've never even seen before.
i gestured him over. he walked over towards me.
"is billie not here tonight?" i asked with my brows still furrowed.
"she called in sick tonight," he shrugged. "i dunno."
oh.
well, damn. she's the only reason i came here tonight.
"do you want a drink or anything?" he quizzed, moving on from my question.
"uh, no, thank you," i shook my head with a sigh.
he shrugged before walking over to somebody else. i pulled my phone out of my pocket, and i went to mine and billie's messages. i sent a quick "hey." it took a few minutes for her to respond.
