"happy birthday, baby!" billie grinned as she greeted me with a plethora of kisses.
"thank you, princess," i murmured, a big smile now played across my lips.
"of course," she pecked my lips a few more times. "how does it feel to be twenty-five?"
"gross," my face scrunched up. "i'm old as hell."
she laughed adorably. "yeah, you are; you cougar," she teased, which made my jaw drop.
"yo, i'm not even a year old than you! i'm eleven months older!" i defended. "cougar, my ass."
she giggled as i narrowed my eyes at her. "you might as well be a whole year older," she continued to tease.
"no. i am eleven months older," i huffed.
"like... eleven and a half months, but okay," she argued.
"you know what," i kissed my teeth. i playfully pushed her away from my embrace. "you're a damn brat. go, leave!"

a while later, me and billie, along with the rest of our friends, are at kai's house. she lives out of the city, and it's honestly pretty nice here; it's gorgeous too.
"dude, how the fuck are you twenty-five?" jordan asked incredulously. "that makes me feel old."
"well... you are old," i sent him a look. "you're twenty-eight! that is old as fuck, man."
"okay, you know what, that was really uncalled for, and i don't appreciate it," he shook his head.
"you basically called me old first, so i wouldn't say it was uncalled for," i sent him a look. "you deserved it."
he kissed his teeth. he then picked me up, and he threw me over his shoulders.
"yo, put me down," i huffed. "this? this is homophobic! and on my birthday too? might as well be a hate crime."
"jj—" he started, then cut himself off. "i can assure you, this is not homophobic, nor is it a hate crime," he laughed.
"yes, it is!" i grumbled. my eyes widened as my hat fell to the ground. "yo, that's a new hat! gimme my hat, jordan!"
"did you... did you just quote that one vine?" he chuckled.
"wait... i did," i made a face as i thought about it. "unintentionally though. but for real, put me down! and get my hat off the floor, bro!"
