                                           CHAPTER 4

-@ University M-

After school, Min and Toei were packing their things to go home as usual. Toei is a friend from Min's medicine group. They have known each other for a year and also work at the same pub.

"Are you leaving yet?" Toei asked. "Oh, I need to go to see my mom" ... Min had to visit his mother, who was sick and had been hospitalized for 6 months.

"I'll go with you"... Toei said as well. It is that the young man has not only known Min for a year, but also regularly enters and leaves the house, so he is close to the family.

"Save it for another day, you have to go to the pub today, right?"

"So you won't go?"  Toei asked surprised, since Min had to go too.

"No, I'm not going ... let's go"... said Min, and they both started walk down the faculty building.

 ....... Another scene

“are you busy?”

"Yesterday I was so busy, so I didn't tell you" ... Min said sincerely to his friend, because he himself didn't intend to lie or keep things quiet.

"Okay, then let's go." After the two went downstairs, both friends said their goodbye before going separate ways because Toei has his own motorcycle, but Min had to wait for the bus.

Min’s mother has stage four of brain cancer, but she had never shown symptoms before and had never had any health check, so she didn't even know. His Mother found out about her condition, because she began to have wasting of the limbs, difficulty walking and spasms. One day when Min returned from the University he saw his mother's symptoms, and immediately took her to the doctor. The specialist determined that his mother had lung cancer and that it had spread to her brain. For this reason, Min's mother has been hospitalized until now ... more than six months of treatment.

During the treatment, she followed in the doctor's instruction’s, that is to say: the corresponding chemotherapy drug and some occasions it was necessary to undergo surgery to drain the fluid retention.

The whole treatment meant that Min had to spend a lot of money. In the past, his family opened a pharmacy in Chiang Mai*. But after his father died, his mother only sold Thai desserts, until she got sick and his mother had to start going in and out of the hospital frequently, so the financial savings began to dry up and Min had to look for other jobs to raise money to support his mother's treatment.

(**NT: Chiang Mai is a city in the mountainous north of Thailand. It was founded in 1296 and was the capital of the Independent Kingdom of Lanna until 1558. The Old Town area retains traces of walls and alcoves from the period when it was a cultural and religious center. It is also home to hundreds of elaborate Buddhist temples.)
