It was a pretty normal day for you, helping your parents with things they needed, go to the store for some personal things, the usual.

You also waited for Luisa to finish with her chores whenever you were done with things to hang out with her for the rest of the day. Of course you were excited, I mean she's your beautiful, strong girlfriend after all.

You would usually wait for her under a tree close to the river, it was there because that's where you met her after all. Usually she would show up excited to see you, but today felt a little different.

"Hey amor!!" You happily said as soon as you saw her and ran to her, hugging her and then kissed her.

"Hey mi vida." She said, not excited as she usually would. You questioned it for a second but let it slide.

"How was work today?" You sweetly asked her.

"It was um... It was okay." She said. You raised a brow.

"Are you sure it was okay?" You asked with a little worry in your voice.

"Yeah, don't worry about me." She said. You were now a little concerned but since she said not to worry you trusted her, so you let it slide again.

"If you say so amor, so what do you wanna do?"

You and Luisa have been hanging out for a few hours, the whole time Luisa seemed to be quieter than usual. She didn't make the usual jokes that she would make everytime you both talked, or would give you a small laugh everytime you said a joke.

The worry that you were feeling was rising the more you hung out with her, she just wasn't her usual self.

You and Luisa were currently having a walk through the forest, and since you had enough worrying, it was finally time you asked what was wrong. So you stepped in front of Luisa, her stopping dead in her tracks, and you gave her a scolding look, folding your arms. You said nothing for a few moments, you could see Luisa starting to get nervous.

"I-Is something wrong?" She asked, her voice shaking a little.

"I should be the one asking you that." You said in a stern tone.

"I-I told you mi amor, I'm okay-"

"Liar." You said. Luisa looked at you, confused.

"Mi amor you're being quieter than usual. You're not your happy-and-confident self, and you don't make the jokes you make everytime we talk. I could tell something was wrong since we met up at the tree today but didn't bother asking, but now I can tell that something's wrong." You said, with a little bit of frustration in your voice from being worried, giving Luisa a worried look.

Luisa started to feel more nervous, she didn't like to make you worry, but she just didn't want to tell you because it would make you even more worried than you already were.

"I-I um..." She stuttered and looked everywhere but you.

"Please Luisa, just tell me what's wrong. You know I hate it when you bottle up your feelings." You said. Luisa gulped.

"I-If I tell you, I feel like you're gonna hate me..." She softly said and looked down. Your eyes open wide in disbelief at what she just said.

"I could never hate you Luisa, why would you say that?" You said, raising your voice a little. "Believe me when I say that I love you more than life itself, don't you ever say something like that again because you know damn well I would die as much times as I need for you!" You said as you slowly walked to her, your voice raising a little bit more. "And don't you ever ask why because the answer will always be because you're my beautiful, caring and strong... Girlfriend?" Before you could continue scolding her, you could hear Luisa softly sob.

Her head was turned at another direction, and she was covering her face with one of her hands so you couldn't look at her face.

"Luisa?" You softly asked.

She said nothing but slightly looked at you, you could see tears falling down her face.

"Luisa what's wrong?? Why are you crying??" You said, slightly panicked.

"I think... I think I'm losing my gift Y/N..." She said, her voice being shaky.

You wide your eyes open. She was losing her gift?

"What??" You said, shocked at what she just said.

"I'm losing it Y/N!" She shouted.

"B-But, how is that possible??" You asked.

"I-I don't know Y/N..." She said and looked down, her eyes filling with more tears.

You were in shock, you didn't know what to say. How is Luisa losing her gift? You sighed.

"I-It's going to be okay Luisa, I'm sure there's a solution for this-"

"It's not going to be okay Y/N!" She shouted.

"Luisa why would you say that??" You said. Luisa hesitated to answer, but since she already told you about her gift then she might as well just tell you everything.

"B-Because... If I lose it then... I'm gonna be nothing." She said, almost at the verge of crying another storm. Your heart sunk at the words that she just said.

"What?" You almost whispered. Just how could Luisa think of herself like that?

"Y/N don't you see? If I lose my gift then how am I gonna help the town!? I won't be able to carry the church, or bridges, not even the donkeys! I won't be able to carry you... And you're gonna leave me." Right as she said the last part, she cried again.

You were stunned at this point, you were a little mad at Luisa for making herself think that she's worthless without her gift, but also felt bad because Abuela raised her thinking that she's only special with her gift.

Suddenly you felt the ground shake a little, it was Luisa, she fell to her knees. You hated seeing Luisa like this, feeling miserable and worthless, it was a view that you couldn't stand seeing.

You walked up to her and softly cupped one of her cheeks, this made her look at you with surprise, she expected you to run away. You wiped her tears with your thumb and softly smiled at her, reassuring her that you weren't going anywhere, that you were right there for her.

"I don't care about your gift, Luisa. I care about you. I fell in love with you not just because of your gift, I love you because you're funny, very caring about others, and have a heart of gold. You're not nothing without your gift. Without it you'll still be Agustin and Julieta's daughter, Isabela and Mirabel's sister, you'll still be my girlfriend, and you'll still be you. So don't say that you're nothing without your gift, because you'll always be the Luisa Madrigal everyone knows." You said and kindly smiled at her, then softly kissed her forehead.

She looked at you in amusement, she looked very speechless. She felt so lucky to have met you, you were her guardian angel. She pulled you into a crushing hug, even with her gift fading you could still hear some of your bones pop a little, that can show how strong she can be even without her gift. With no hesitation, you hugged her back.

You stayed like this for a few moments, sitting there in comfortable silence. Suddenly you felt Luisa pull back a little bit, and you looked down just to see Luisa warmly smiling at you. She looked gorgeous, even in her cried state she managed to look so pretty, you couldn't help but smile. You caressed her cheek, softly rubbing it with your thumb.

"There's the smile I love to see." You said. Luisa couldn't help but chuckle.

"Thank you, Y/N." She said.

"Anytime Luisa, you know I'll always be there for you." You said and kissed her. "I say, how about some cuddles at your house hm?" You suddenly said.

"Yes please!" Luisa excitedly said. You couldn't help but giggle.

You helped Luisa stand up, she was still a little shaky from crying.

You both headed to Casita and cuddled for the rest of the day.
