you go on a stroll to the saloon and run into someone on the way, they seemed to be wearing a beige jacket and a blue jumper underneath. you introduced yourself and they said that they own the saloon and that his name is gus, he tells you about how lively the saloon is at night and he tells you about a few regulars, you were intrigued about one of the people he was talking about shane you think his name was; Gus described him as a young man struggling with life, apparently he spent most of his time at the saloon after work. you wanted to meet him you couldn't help but feel bad, life can be difficult sometimes and you were hoping you would be able to help him get out of his drinking habits that you've been told he had.
later that afternoon, you finally make your way back up to the saloon, you bailed out last time because of how nervous you were but you were determined you would get it done this time!
you knock on the door to be greeted by a woman with curly blonde hair. 'hello youngster, are you the new villager?, who am I kidding of course you are!, my name is pam nice to meet ya' she cackles. you follow her to the back table and start having a chat about the city, socialising with new people here wasn't as bad as the city, in the city everyone is extremely defensive and rude but here people treat you like they've known you for years.this place already felt like home, you and Pam decide to order some drinks just as you finish your order you see him, Shane, he looked so tired and exhausted. you tell pam you wanted to go check something and quickly excuse yourself, you approach him just to be met with a 'what do you want' from Shane, you quickly introduce yourself in hopes that it turns into a conversation but instead he takes another sip of booze and just glares. you take his lifeless glare as a sign to leave before it gets too awkward, you quickly say goodbye and walk over to your table. pam was still there, she was surprisingly friendly, you didn't know her well but from Gus's description she seemed quite stubborn, maybe it was the booze, you'll never know you just hope she still remembers you tomorrow as you two had become such good friends.
you start to get a bit tipsy and tired, pam offers to walk you home but you decline graciously. you thank her for being so nice and welcoming then set off to go home. you encounter Shane again on the way it looked like he decided to cut through your farm to get home, you say hello and he just ignores you. 'ouch that kinda hurt' you think to yourself as you walk through the door of your cabin.
