Sister, I can still feel you,
Your hands on my shoulders,
Push me forwards,
Though my feet drag.

Your shadow walks with me,
Strong silhouette in pale light,
Your arms outstretch,
But I can never close the gap.

Sister please, I feel you,
It's so close and yet,
My hands can't hold yours,
My arms may never lock yours.

Baby Sister, you're not far behind us,
Your silly laugh echoes far,
Your soft words carry far and wide,
Though they fall on deaf ears.

Your shadow follows us,
Small and punctured with white,
Even the sun can't hide your tats,
But my shadow falls short always.

Little Sister please, come closer,
I want to hold you close,
Whisper to you how sorry I am,
Tell you everything will be fine.

My shadow always sits opposite,
Taunting me, and both of you,
I move closer, and you fade,
So here I must stay.

One day, I promise my sisters,
I will walk with you again,
Arm in arm down the darkened streets,
I just wish it was sooner.
