"This is going to be a workout." Morgan sighed, circling his shoulders to stretch them out.

Emily, JJ, Reid, and himself, we're all out on neighborhood duty. Hotch told them to canvas the streets and parks around the crime scenes, and it'd take them all day, and then some, to complete. They'd be walking on their feet all day—possibility going for miles—so Morgan was right to prep himself slightly before starting the journey, even if it was more of a joke than for any actual benefit.

Emily and JJ joined in on the stretching.
The blonde of the two laced her fingers and extended her arms over her head. A groan escaped her as she strained her shoulder and wrist muscles.
Emily crossed one arm in front of her chest, and used the other to pull it slightly. This was achieved by pushing on the elbow joint, resulting in an extension of the rest of her bones.

Though none of the BAU members present thought Reid would participate in their stretching, he did. He bent down in a quick motion touching his toes, almost hitting the floor.
For an acrobat that sort of thing would be normal, but for Reid—tall, boney, lanky Reid—it was startling to see him bend himself in half so easily, almost fluidly.

"Woah, is that one of your magic tricks?" Morgan teased, though genuine curiosity lined his remark.

"Huh? No?" Reid was confused. He straightened back up and looked between his three coworkers. They all had shocked, impressed, confused expressions on their faces.

"You're so flexible." JJ smiled, stating simply what Morgan tried to get across.

"My mom put me in ballet and acrobatics when I was younger." Reid smiled at the memories.

"Really? I didn't peg you as the dancer type." Morgan chuckled, leaning back slightly to look over Reid's body, judging if it could pass as a ballet dancer.

"I didn't retain most of the talent, as I stopped going to take care of my mom when I was eleven." Reid stood there awkwardly, looking like he couldn't even spin on one foot, let alone do actual dancer movements.

"But you kept your flexibility." Emily encouraged, knowing the mother topic was sensitive, "Show us something." She urged.

"Like what?" Reid asked cautiously.

"The splits." Morgan spoke up, "Can you do the splits?"

"Yeah, I can do front and side splits..." Reid hesitated for a moment, "But we're outside, and the ground is dirty."

"Come on. Just once, and then we'll start the canvasing." Emily pleaded, putting her hands together as a prayer.

After a few seconds, Reid nodded without words, and looked down to the floor to see if he had enough room to do his performance.

"Which one do you want to see? The front or side split?" He asked his colleagues.

Morgan didn't know the difference, so he just shrugged and turned to the girls. JJ contemplated it for a while, wondering which one would be the most impressive. Emily wanted Reid to continue, so she blurted out an answer before he lost his confidence and chickened out.

"Front! Front splits." She said.

Reid nodded without words again, and looked both ways to see if people were looking. No one seemed to be around.
He looked up to them to signal he was starting, and then he was on the floor. It was so quick that they didn't even completely understand how it happened. His left leg was out in front of him and his right was stretched behind him.
Upon seeing his friends reactions, it filled him with a new found courage. He reached his arms to his right leg that laid behind him, and he grabbed his ankle. Then he began to pull his right leg upwards, creating an unnatural arch in his knee.

"Jesus Reid." Emily huffed out an almost jealous laugh.

"I can't believe we never knew about this." JJ smirked, crossing her arms.

"I can't imagine it would ever come up, JJ." Morgan rolled his eyes.
