I woke up the next morning to someone tapping on my shoulder.

"Wake up," a voice whispers, "WAKE UP!"

I finally woke up and turned over, it was Yeah-Yeah.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"It's 7:50, we're going to the sandlot at 8:30, so get up!" he yelled.

I got up from my bed and brushed my hair. I cleaned my teeth and then I went downstairs.

My mom had plates laid out with leftovers from last night.

"Just have these leftovers," she says, pointing at the plates.

I nodded my head and then sat down at the counter, eating the food. It was bread and cheese, it tasted really good.

As I was eating, I kept thinking about last night. I couldn't believe that he liked me back, like actually.

Alan rushed back upstairs to get dressed, he wanted to be early as possible. I continued eating the bread, still overthinking everything.

Mom looked at me, "Are you okay sweetie?" she asked.

I nodded my head, "Yeah, of course," I mumbled.

"Okay," she sighed.

Once I finished my food, I went upstairs to get ready. I decided to wear a graphic shirt and jeans. I tied my hair up into a ponytail and left a few strands out. I went back downstairs and grabbed my black Converse shoes.

My brother snuck up behind me. "Did you tell Benny yet?" he whispered.

I turned over to him, shaking my head, "Why do you care?" I asked, squinting my eyes.

"I don't know!" he mumbled, waving his hands in the air.

"Are you ready to go yet?" I asked.

He nodded his head and gave me a thumbs up.

"Alright, let's go then," I said, opening the door. "Bye Mom!" I waved.

We ran over to the sandlot and everyone was there once we arrived.

"Where have you guys been?" Ham asked.

"Sorry, my sister woke up late," Alan said, pointing his pointer finger at me.

"It's literally 8:29 right now," I mumbled.

He rolled his eyes at me. "Okay???"

"Now, where is Benny?" Squints asked, looking around.

Benny came running, his face was so sweaty.

"Sorry for being late," he says, "I slept at like 3 AM last night."

"Doing what?" Squints asked.

He shrugged, "Why would you care?"

He rolled his eyes. "Because why not?"

"Whatever, let's not waste time. Let's play some ball," he yelled, running.

We all went to our normal positions. Benny watched me as I ran.

"Y/n, wanna swing first?" he asked.

I nodded my head. "Sure!" I said, running over to him.

He handed me over his bat and threw the ball over to Kenny. He decided to be the catcher. He grabbed the mitt from his pocket.

Kenny sighed, "Benny, why did you ask her?"

"Because why not?" he yelled.

He rolled his eyes, "Whatever you say, Benny boy." He pitched the ball towards me, I swung the bat to hit it. It went far, not over the fence though. I ran over to the first base, then to second, then to third. I hit a home run, everyone was cheering. I made it back just in time, they almost caught me.
