Business was going bad.
Really bad.
Schlatt, Charlie and Ted all owned a museum, where they would put on display every single historic artifact they could find on their adventures.
No one was visiting and all the statues, paintings and artifacts are collecting dust.
Every single thing in their museum was authentic. They personally collected all of them in their adventures.
Ted and Charlie are injured, they can walk but they can't strain their muscles. Their doctor advised them to stay at home for atleast a good few months, maybe 3-5 months..
They could do that, definitely. But if they don't start making money and renovate the museum in the next couple weeks they would go bankrupt and lose all their hard-earned valuables in their beloved museum.
Schlatt offered to go to an adventure alone and get the most sought after artifact in all of their dimension.

As this humanoid dragon flies down, he takes the egg in the middle of the bedrock circle and gently lands Infront of Schlatt.
"Hello, uhm.. I'm Wilbur. I'm actually surprised you aren't violent or scared, every person who visits here is usually ready to fight."
"Oh no- dont worry about it dude. I'm just here for the artifact and the view but I don't mind getting friends along the way. I'm Schlatt."

Wilbur starts to cry.
"Thank you so much! Please, let's leave right now. I sense that she's coming back soon and I don't want another fight.."
"Yeah yeah C'mon. Follow me."
As they go through the portal and walk through the forest, Wilbur stays close, as if protecting Schlatt from something and puffs his feathers around his face when the trees make a sudden noise.
Survival instincts? Schlatt thought. He takes out his book about different species and their characteristics.
