SO BASICALLY, LANDON was suspected to have stolen an artefact—a knife, precisely and Alaric informed them that. Apparently, Landon had acted as if the compulsion worked on him when it didn't. And the three came to the conclusion that Landon was a supernatural but the remaining question was what was he?

"For ten years, we have gone undetected. Protecting you, protecting our secret has been our singular mission." Alaric spoke, addressing to all the students sitting in front of him as they were having an assembly. "Tonight I need your help to find Landon Kirby before he exposes us all."

Whispers broke out in the place, students whispering to each other, fearing for their exposure.

Jaxon, who was sitting on the stairs, his hands linked as his elbows rested on his knees was able to hear all their words. He hated sitting with those students which was why he was away from them.

After the talk, the students dispersed, each going their own way. Jaxon noticed Josie and her sulking figure throughout the entire day, he was just too busy to ask her about it. So, he decided to follow her outside.

He halted in his steps when he saw MG walking towards her, he didn't bother listening to their talks— except MG's apology before the two exchanged a hug and MG walked away. Jaxon's lips pulled up into a smirk when Josie set Penelope's sleeve on fire.

He approached her, his hands in his pocket, "hey Jo."

"Hey," Josie smiled, "don't tell dad about this."

"My lips are sealed," He made a zipping motion with his fingers before throwing an arm around Josie's shoulder, "are you jealous that Penelope's interacting with others?"

"I'm not jealous," Josie was quick to say, "I'm just... I just hate that everybody likes her. Why can't they what kind of... B word she is?"

"Bitch?" Jaxon raised his brows, the two walking around, "I don't think she's a bitch to you at least, you know? She just hates it when you're literally in Lizzie's shadow."

"Well, Lizzie's my sister so she has to understand that," Josie said, sighing, "but she didn't. I'm glad... we broke up."

"Look, I hate saying this but," Jaxon stopped walking which made Josie stop too. He turned her around so she was looking at Penelope who succeeded in putting out the fire. "You know, it's not too late to go fix things."

"What do you mean?" Josie frowned in confusion. Jaxon sighed, "you're so dense, I swear—" he ran a hand through his hair, "— we both know you're in love with that girl over there and it's as clear as day that she's in love with you two. So, why don't you suck it up and go fix things between you two before it's too late?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about." Josie turned away, biting her lip, "I don't... I don't love her. And she does not love me, okay? Let's just... Forget about that."

Jaxon shook his head and watched Josie walk away. He was a half–god for fuck's sake. He sure as hell knew when two people were in that pathetic thing they called 'love'— but did he?

Penelope glanced at him upon feeling his stare on her. She shot him a wink before walking away, her head held high making Jaxon's lips twitch up. He and Penelope were friends regardless of her attitude towards Lizzie.

Just then, Jaxon received a text from Alaric asking him To go see him in his office. With a loud sigh, Jaxon made his way there.

"Called in a favour with a buddy at state patrol," Matt Donavon spoke up, "asked him to lock down the scene till we got here. Local PD thinks it was chemical spill."

"What's the actual story?" Alaric asked, furrowing his brows at his old friend who shook his head, "I'll leave that to you guys to figure out."

"All right, thanks Sheriff." Alaric said to Matt who nodded before walking away.

Jaxon, Hope and Alaric exchanged a look before walking towards the bus. They entered it and looked around, seeing burnt bodies everywhere.

"Fucking hell," Jaxon breathed out, "I'm going to kill him."

"Not if I do first." Hope said, staring at the bodies with regret filled in her eyes.
