Chapter 7

Amethyst sat unmoving in the center of the ring, fire still around her, the stadium was completely quiet as everyone stares at the field. Only a few minutes later did Mr. Nightmare start talking, "Well wasn't that entertaining!" He stood up, "Everyone back to your dorms now, go get some sleep for a new day of school!" he spoke in a sickly sweet voice, after he spoke, he turned and walked through a curtain. 
People slowly start filing out of the arena, but I stayed behind for a moment, watching as some Henchman brought Ame off of the field, once she wasn't visible anymore, I followed everyone out. 
Once I was out, I spotted Rena and Pandora talking, I silently went over to them. 
"This is... can people really get killed during arena time and he just... won't care?" Rena says as she frowns.
"I guess..." Pandora shrugs, "come on. let's just get back to the dorms..." 
I notice Thorne walking in our direction, I tried to ignore it, but I soon noticed that he was staring right at Rena. 
"Uh-oh," I said, watching him.
"What?" Rena starts, then she saw him too, "Oh-" 
He soon reaches us, smirking, "Sup hottie." 
Rena's eyes widen slightly, "Excuse me?" 
"You heard me." Thorne leans against the nearest wall. 
"I uh.. uh-huh." Rena turns back to me with a "what the hell" look. 
"You should come over to my dorm for a bit. Maybe I could show you a good time~" 
Rena turns back to him, a look of disgust on her face, "Yeah no. I don't find desperate attractive." 
"I'm not desperate." Thorne scoffs, "I'm shooting my shot." 
"well congrats, you missed." Rena turns back to us, "come on." 
"Come on, honey. At least give me a chance." Thorne grabs Rena's arm, but she shook him off and walked past him, bumping his shoulder slightly, as she did, she turned to speak to him, "if you want a girl to like you, don't immediately suggest sleeping with each other." She then turned and kept walking, the rest of us following along. 

As we walk down the halls, I barely heard some people in a group talking. 
"Yeah... sounds like she'll be alright. Just badly injured." 
"Good... good." 
I turn to the group, realizing it was Amethyst's friend group. A weight that has been on my shoulders since she was hit lifted, and I could finally breathe. There's no way Mr. Nightmare would let students kill other students.... right? 

I turned and kept walking, but I couldn't help but stare at the ground as I thought. This had to be a dream, there's no way that someone as horrible and twisted as Mr. Nightmare could exist. 
And yet... he did. and I wasn't waking up any time soon. 
My thoughts would have circled more if I hadn't run into someone in front of me. I huffed, I couldn't help but be frustrated that someone just stood in front of me, but I quickly held back my opinion as I look up at the person. 
It's the same henchman that woke us up this morning. 
I made a face of disgust and as I continue walking, Not in the mood I thought. 
"Wow, you're nice." He said. 
"Thanks." I crossed my arms as I kept walking. 
"I hope you're ready for wake up tomorrow." 
"If you do anything other than yell, I'm going to punch you." 
"wow," he chuckled, "You do know I have the power to k-" 
I cut him off, "You do, and I don't care. Cause you'll be the one in jail once the police find out about this." 
The Henchman opens his mouth to say something, but I was grabbed from behind and a hand went over my mouth, "Tell the police and I'll take you to Mr. Nightmare." I was then let go, and when I spun around to see who it was, the Henchman was already far away. My Jaw drops a bit as I stared, How'd he get that far in such a short time?
"Yeah, what he said." 
I turned back to the other Henchman, "How did he..." 
"He has super speed" He shrugged. 
I sighed,  "Of course." I rubbed my eyes, a thought coming to me "since you're going to be the one waking us up, do you have a name I can call you so I'm not calling you "henchman" 
He chuckled, "Of course. Call me Vee." 
I nod, "I would say nice to meet you, but I don't like lying." 
"Ouch." He chuckled, and I could have sworn I saw a small smile tug at the corner of his lips. 
"Well, I'm going to get to my dorm before Mr. Nightmare gets mad." 
"Yeah, right... see ya tomorrow." Vee silently walked off, and I headed back to the dorm, where everyone was, but I only saw Rena. 
"Rena? Where is everyone?" 
"In bed already." She was in the kitchen, sipping some water.
I nod slightly, "So.. how are you?" 
"hm?" she looked at me, an eyebrow raised.
"After the whole Thorne thing." 
"Oh, that? that was funnier than anything." She laughed a little, "I mean, did you see him? he was so desperate." 
I smile a little, "Yeah, it was kinda sad." 
She nodded, then she put the cup in the sink, despite it being half full, "I should head to bed." 
"But your wa-" 
She cuts me off, "Night El" She left without letting me answer.
"Night?" I watched her go, sighing, What is this world? I thought before heading upstairs and quickly going to bed, not caring that I was still in my uniform.
