Claire Redfield and Sherry Birkin

(Third person)

It was one of those nights, Sherry couldn't sleep. The poor girl was lying awake in bed, anxious to go to sleep. She wanted so badly for Claire to scoop her into her arms and lull her to sleep, that was commonly what Claire would do to get Sherry to sleep. Sometimes Sherry would cuddle close to Claire when she had sleepless nights, the two were there for each other in their time of need. They needed each other. The young blonde had grown tired of hoping she would fall asleep, she slipped on her bunny slippers and trotted to Claire who was in the living room. Ever since Raccoon city, Sherry has been living in Claire's apartment near the old blown up city. The red head almost screamed when she saw Sherry appear in the passage way."Sherry! You scared the crap outta me kiddo, you should be asleep!" Claire scolded running to her and kneeling on her knees to meet Sherry's eyes."I can't sleep, I'm scared to sleep tonight." The younger girl confessed hugging Claire, the older girl held her close and picked her up."Okay, I'll come lay with you, is that okay?" Claire didn't need to ask twice, Sherry immediately nuzzled into her shoulder indicating a positive answer. The red head giggled and carried her up to her room and gently laid her in her bed, Claire quickly grabbed a pair of her own pajamas and changed into them outside of Sherry's room. The blonde giggled when she saw the pattern on Claire's pajamas, they were bears. Claire Bear. Sherry thought, she giggled. Claire slipped under the duvet next to Sherry, the blonde girl immediately snuggled into her side making her chuckle."Hey Sherry?"

"Yes Claire?"

"Have you ever had a lullaby sung to you before?" The red head asked gently rubbing Sherry's hair, bringing comfort to the young girl."No sadly, why do you ask?" The little one asked looking up into Claire's baby blue eyes with curiosity. The red head smiled."Would you like to?" Claire has a history of singing, she went to college to study music and become a music producer. She even wrote her own songs with a group of friends she had in Highschool, they made themselves a band. Claire was always be the lead singer slash guitarist. The little blonde's eyes lit up as she stared at Claire, of course Claire told her about her past, but Sherry had never heard her sing before."Yes please! I'll finally get to hear you sing!" The little one said grabbing onto Claire's arm excitedly."Hold your horses sweetheart! You gotta get comfy first." The red head instructed, Sherry immediately snuggled under the covers and awaited Claire's lullaby. The red head cuddled her close."You ready?"

"I'm ready." Sherry said, she would be awake before the lullaby ended, this was a once in a lifetime experience she's getting right now. Hearing Claire sing for the very first time."Let's go in the garden~ you'll find something waiting!" She began."Right there where you left it lying upside down~

Claire ended laying her head on Sherry's."You have such a beautiful voice Claire." The young blonde complimented snuggling into the red head. Claire smiled as she kissed the little ones head."Thank you Sherry, goodnight honey." The red head said pulling the blonde closer to her."Goodnight Claire, I love you." Sherry squeaked."I love you too Sherry."

*This was a sweet one! I love Sherry and Claire, they make me happy with their mommy - daughter relationship 😭 This isn't a usual character x reader chapter, but I think I might start doing these too! Especially with one of my favorite ships being Valenfield! (Claire x Jill) The song is Everything stays by Rebecca Sugar by the way!*
