Alissa was surprised when she walked into her room and saw a black box with Faith's name on it waiting for her. The box was no bigger than a shoebox. As soon as she touched it, the box clicked, and the top slid open. Inside was a knife, a vial, and a card.

The card read, "100 points for every drop of blood."

Her heart began to race as she held the card. "Why blood? What is going on?" Suddenly, a knock hit her door. She quickly put the knife under her pillow. "Come in."

The door slid open, and one of her roommates, Xander, walked in looking at his item. "So, what was in your box?" Xander was tall with short silver hair with a black streak going down the middle. He was also added to her hotel room after the first round. He was a Bronze but wanted to be Diamond. Xander was one of the most laid-back people Alissa had ever met. "I got this weird tool. It's like one of those multi-tools."

Alissa hesitated. "I got this bottle thing."

Xander's eyes snapped to her. "That's it?"

"That's it." It was then that Alissa realized something was wrong. Xander was watching her like he was waiting for something. "Is that it?"

Xander's eyes went back to his tool. "Mine's had a card with it. It told me to do something. So, I'll ask again. Was that it?"

"Where are the others?" Alissa managed to ask. She knew they would be wondering what was going on too. So where were they? He had slowly grasped the knife beneath the pillow.

"Don't make this hard, Faith. I just need a little blood from you. That's all." He took a step towards her. "I know you got the same card. We all did. It says one hundred points for each drop of blood. Never said it had to be mine." Before he got any closer, Alissa managed to grab the knife and hold it to him. Xander stopped as soon as he saw it. "Easy, Faith."

"Don't come any closer!" Alissa said. To her surprise, Xander lunged at her, but she managed to sidestep him and run for the door to their hotel room. She ran down the hallway and down the stairs. She had no idea where she was going, but she knew he would be hot on her tail. Sure enough, when she turned around, Xander was chasing after her. Once in the lobby, she kept running until she was outside. She was too busy trying to get away from him that she didn't notice the person walking towards her and slammed to d into him. "Ow."

"Well, hello to you too. What are you doing out so late?"

Alissa looked up and saw Isiah staring back at her. "Isiah?"

"Yep, last time I checked," Isiah said with a smile. Until he noticed she had a knife in her hands. "What's with that?"

Alissa's head snapped back as she heard Xander's heavy breathing. "It's him. He trying to..." She couldn't say it.

Isiah helped her off the ground. "I think I get it." He moved in front of her and crossed his arms. "Aye, mate, I don't know what you think you're doing, but I'd advise against it. Trust me; you don't want to get on my bad side."

Xander ran towards them. "Move! Or you can take her place. I don't give a-" Before he could finish, Isiah grabbed his arm and slammed his knee into Xander's stomach. He begins twisting Xander's arm until he lets the weapon go. Isiah swept Xander's leg out from under him and pinned him to the ground.

"I warned you," Isiah said. He turned to Alissa. "Mind filling me in?"

Alissa looked down at the wounded Xander. "He said he wanted my blood. Our card said we get points based on the drops of blood we collect. Xander wanted mine. One hundred points per drop."

"Is that right? Well, the human body has, on average, 9 to 12 points of blood in it. So I'd say about 120,000 drops of blood. Just a guess. That's 12,000,000 points per person, give or take. A bit excessive if you were planning on doing what I thought you would do," Isiah said, putting pressure on Xander's back.

"I don't know what scares me more. The fact you knew how all that, the fact he was willing to kill me for points, or the fact the games would be okay with that." Alissa felt like she was about to throw up.

Isiah couldn't help but smirk. "I think I'd pick the one that involves him."

"You were seriously going to...you...did you...kill the others?" Alissa asked, feeling her body start to shake.

Isiah twisted Xander's arm again, making him scream. "I think you should answer her, mate."

Xander cursed under his breath. "I didn't mean to. As soon as I started, I couldn't stop. We don't know how many points we'll need. Better to be safe than sorry. I refuse to go back to the Bronze Zone."

The more he spoke, the angrier she was getting. She could only think about how the others felt. Xander killed them. All for points. Isiah looked up at her. "What do you want to do? He'll keep coming. Especially now he knows you know. If it were me, I'd get even. But, by the grace of Lucian, you're not me. I know you wouldn't do it. Either way, whatever you want to do is fine with me."

Alissa didn't know if she was glad Isiah was on her side or not. But then she realized if she had Isiah kill Xander, she'd be no better than her father. "I'm not going to do anything. Mind if I go back to your room?"

Isiah shrugged. "Fine with me." Before Isiah got off of Xander, he stomped hard on Xander's leg. "Just in case you get any ideas about following us. Also, don't ever mess with her. Or else." They watched Xander scurry as fast as he could back into the hotel. Isiah shook his head. "I just wanted some fresh air."

Alissa handed him the knife. "Can you get rid of this?"

Isiah nodded and took it from her along with Xander's tool. "Wonder why they wanted blood?"

"I don't know."

Isiah put the weapons in his pocket. "Are you alright?"

All Alissa could do was shake her head. The wind blew past her face, and she nearly jumped out of her skin.

Isiah cleared his throat. "Alright, let's get inside. I don't know about you, but I bloody hate the cold. If you want, you can crash with us for the night. No weird blood collecting going on. Promise."

"Thanks, Isiah."

"No problem, love. Glad I can put these skills of mind to use for a good cause. No one messes with my mates and gets away with it. I don't know if Hunter told you, but I don't have many people in my life that I care about. Those I do care about I protect with all that I have. You may not think of me that way, and I'd understand. And trust me, you're dad has nothing to do with it." Isiah smiled at her and walked with her to the front door of the legacy hotel. "After you."
