Thirteen years earlier,
Sia surmised she could transform
magically into a mermaid
by Tezen.
So, she fearlessly held her breath,
under the lake,
until she could spot,
the magnificent Tezen,
to make her,
a siren of the waters.
A few minutes went by.
Sia realized her mortality,
a little too late.
When she could no longer,
hold her breath.
Panic inhabited her final thoughts.
She agonized for a while.
Alone.
Under the lake.
Her lungs were quickly filling,
with water.
Alas, she drew a resolute gasp,
and let out her brother's name,
breathlessly with eyes wide open,
"Christopher"
