I wanted to sit there, watching the sun set by the prairie. To find the land where she has conquered me completely. To not come up from the shore until light dips low into her land.

I wanted to sit there, bare-faced with shame. To be lying face-down in the sand, face and chest pressed to the earth, bare feet kicking at the air. To not care about a single thing at all.

I wanted to sit there, murmuring her name like an incantation, watching her glint golden from the light. I would be rose-bitten, and then my gaze would follow her everywhere. I wanted to be able to look closely.
