Habitat
The Opaleye is native to New Zealand, but many have been recorded in Australia as they are known to migrate there when territory and prey become scarce in their native habitat. They usually live in valleys rather than mountains like other dragons.

Prey
The Opaleye hunts at sea and usually targets prey close to the surface, but has been known to dive up to thirty feet in pursuit of prey. They will eat many types of sea food, including sharks or even whales, and will also eat sheep often.

Size
The Opaleye is a medium sized dragon, ranging from 35-40ft.

Egg
The Opaleye egg is a pale grey colour that can be mistaken for fossils by unaware muggles. A clutch generally includes two to four eggs. Unlike many dragons, the father raises the eggs and they will stay with him for two or three years before departing.

Appearance By many it is regarded as the most beautiful dragon, with pearly white scales and glistening, multi-coloured, pupil-less eyes
