"How thoughtful of you," he said with a condescending smirk before speaking again "I heard you were supposed to promenade with lord Anderson today but I couldn't help noticing that he is not here"

I wanted to curse at him for bringing lord Anderson up, who is he to bring up my business, As a matter of fact, how does he even know That I was going to promenade with lord Anderson. I looked over to benedict and saw him with a guilty look on his face while biting his lip

I swear I was going to get him back. I looked back at Anthony and said "I don't see how that is any of your business-" the conversation was cut short yet again when I saw from the corner of my eye, Lord Anderson walking our way, wearing all black

"Your grace, my apologies for being late but I had business to attend to, I hope you will forgive me," he said while grabbing my hand and kissing it

I looked at him for a second before turning my eyes slightly to Anthony to see his face written with hatred and jealousy

I couldn't help but to think, why was he jealous, he never liked me in that way, he only ever saw me as a friend, so why was he looking at lord Anderson like he wanted to kill him for kissing my hand

"Oh lord bridgerton, I didn't see you there," he said with a smirk before turning back to me "are you ready,"  he said while he held his hand out for me to take. I looked back at Anthony to see his eyes burning with even more jealousy

I turned back to Anderson with a straight face and said "yes"

"This is going to be troubled sum" I heard Benedict say before I walked away with lord Anderson

"Thank you, Lord Anderson, for getting me out of that awkward situation" I said " your welcome your grace, should you ever need me to get you out of situations like the one I just witnessed, I will gladly be your knight in shining armor" lord Anderson said while tightening his grip on my arm

"Yes I will certainly call you should I ever be in need of rescuing" I said with a hushed tone while looking down to the ground

"My lady, you seem a little unsettle, have I said something to upset you" he said, stopping us in our tracks

"No I am fine, just a little flushed" I said
