-the next day-

I woke up early today so I could go to the store before school Miguel decided to tag along so our mom drove us and I walked in to the store I grabbed some Pringles and my number 1 favorite soda and I grabbed some Swedish fish gummies and set them on the counter Miguel had veggie straws in his hand and a coke its his go to snack Miguel says "I'll pay this time only because I owe you" he set the money on the counter on our way back to the car I ask "so who's that brunette you always are hanging out with" he stutters a bit "Shes um- Shes my uh- Shes just a friend"

I say "Is that so? Because to me its like you like her" Miguel rolls his eyes and smiles "What about you and Hawk, I heard what he said when you were trying out for the dojo and if I'm not mistaken you were turning red" I say almost extremely defensive "There's nothing going on! I barely know the guy and its not like I could fall for a guy like him!" Miguel laughed and I ran into the car he looked at me with the stupidest smile he thinks he knows it all I roll my eyes once we get to school I head into my first period class the teacher says "Everyone look who made it on time!" I stare dead in his eyes and his smile faded I sitin my seat and notice Hawk isn't there I then hear a voice whisper in my ear "looking for me princess?" He sits and raises an eyebrow I say "ofc not why would I be?" I look forward he says "your pretty good at this pretending you don't like me thing but you cant keep it up for long"

-at lunch-

Miguel smiles at me from across the room welcoming me to his table the only seat was between Hawk and Dimitri I don't know Dimitri that well so I thought it could be a chance for me to get to know him ig I take my seat Hawk looked at me eagerly but I turned my head and talked to Dimitri I say "so Dimitri tell me about yourself" he worded back "Well I'm smart pretty scrawny and a nerd that about covers it" I laugh he smiles like he accomplished something on his to do list we kept getting to know each other and I say "wanna make plans to hangout some time?" He says sure I grab my napkin and write my number on it and say text me when you wanna hangout he nods and shoved it in his pocket I feel a warmth on my leg I look and see Hawks hand on my leg basically holding on super tight I look up at him and say quietly "What? Jealous?" He whispered to me "No I just don't like to share what's mine" "Well it's a good thing I'm not yours then huh?" I roll my eyes grab his hand and pulled it off of me and left it hanging he looked kinda angry but I ignored it

next class I sat to the left of Miguel and the brunette Miguel is basically obsessed with walked in she needed a lab partner Miguel offered us up and she came over "Hi I'm Sam" she tells me I say "Harper" she smiles "cool name I reply "thanks" she gave me her number and I shoved it in my back pack she seemed pretty nice so I thought I would try to be her friend and get some drama about Miguel out of her we were handed papers and Hawk walled in like 10 minutes late he smiles at me and takes a seat and the teacher says "Someone will need to sit with Hawk for this project I see five girls volunteer but the teacher says that I should because I'm in a group of three I thought it was best to boot fight it so I wouldn't get another detention I sat by him he says "why so gloomy princess" I snap "not gloomy I just don't want to work with you" I say he put his hand on mine and he says "strange way of asking me out but sure when and where" "God you can't take a hint can you?" "Not when it's not the truth, so does Saturday work for you" he smirks and I say "if I say yes will you shut up?" He nods I reply "then yea, saturday, 6:30" he smiles and says "I hope you know I won this battle right" I roll my eyes the bell rings and I'm out the die faster than flash himself

-after school at the dojo-

Miguel says "I need somewhere romantic but not too romantic" Hawk chimes in "You could take her to get tattoos" Aisha and I laugh and Miguel says "What?" Hawk stands up "I know a guy he just hooked me up with this bad boy" he took off the top half of his gi we all looked shocked Miguel and I say "Holy shit" Aisha says "That is badass" Hawk looked at himself in the mirror "right? 14 hours in the chair" I stared at Hawks muscles He then winked at me threw the mirror and I turned around mentally telling myself to go jump off a cliff but were chill. Aisha says "Wait. Are your parents ok with that?" He gets kinda shy "Oh they have no idea. Definitely gonna have to wear a t-shirt until collage. Probably longer. Please don't tell them" he sits down beside me I hold his hand -that scene fr was adorable- I then realized what I did and pulled my hand away and he reaches and holds it again he whispers "don't get nervous on me now princess" he held my hand like I was gonna run away but I kinda just gave in.. And the most disappointing part is Miguel saw it in never gonna live that down he starts talking about his girl problems again I sigh and me and Hawk lay on our backs on the mat still holding hands my stomach was totally swirling like crazy but I survived we hear Sensei say "Banned?! I'll ban you!!" Me and Miguel come running in "Sensei what's going on?" We say he says enraged "There's a lifetime ban on cobra kai from entering the tournament." "What!" Miguel says "how is that fair!" I shout sensei replies "its not" Miguel coughed up "What happened to 'never accept defeat'? There is no no?" He piped up "That was girl advice this is different this is the real world" "since when do you care about rules! You gotta fight this!" I chime in he says "you know what your right -he gets up- imma beat their asses" me and Miguel reply "No no no were just saying maybe take a more delicate approach, sensei?" "The way of the fist isn't delicate. Cobras aren't delicate." "Yes for get delicate maybe there's a smarter way to fight back?" Me and Miguel say Sensei seemed to be thinking about it so we joined the group and started to do our lesson for the day
