Animal X: Natural Mystery Unit the Complete Season 2

THE HEROES

BILL KERR

The founder and director of the Animal X Natural Mystery Unit, Bill was an esteemed cryptozoologist during his youth which he spent travelling the globe discovering and cataloging cryptids of all shapes and sizes in his book known as "the Cryptozoologicon" before retiring from his cryptid-hunting days after realizing what the consequences of his discoveries would bring to the world if they were ever to be revealed to the public. he then decided to dedicate the rest of his life to protecting cryptids and ensuring that their existence stays a secret which led to him founding the Animal X Natural Mystery unit alongside his fellow cryptozoologists Don Amino and Natalie's parents, a secret organization dedicated to keeping the existence of Cryptids a secret from the public in order to prevent them from being harmed and exploited by humans. however his friendship with Don Amino ended when he betrayed Animal X and killed Natalie's parents which led to Bill adopting and raising Natalie as if she were one of his own. Bill is very warm and fatherly to his agents, often giving them sagely advice whenever they're having trouble with something as well as being a very superstitious man believing that anything is possible including the supernatural due to his history as a cryptozoologist, his catchphrase being "there are stranger things in heaven and earth". he takes a liking towards Daniel and vouched for him to be recruited into Animal X (much to Natalie's chagrin) due to seeing a little bit of himself in the boy. he appointed Natalie to train Daniel believing it would be best for his adopted daughter as he wanted her to open up to friends. he is also a very secretive man, keeping many things about him and his past under lock and key from even his most trusted agents.

DANIEL SEARLE

The main protagonist of the series, Daniel was an average joe living a quaint and simple life in suburban america. he was a true blue skeptic, grounding his beliefs in fact and reality refusing to believe in nonsense like cryptids or urban legends and the like brushing them off as nothing more than mere hoaxes and fairy tales. however his entire world is turned upside down when on a camping trip with his neighbors the Johnson family their campsite is attacked by a rogue Bigfoot revealing to him that everything he's believed was wrong which led to him being found by Natalie. Bill vouched for Daniel to be recruited into the Animal X Natural Mystery Unit, much to the chagrin of Natalie who was completely against the idea of a civilian being recruited into their organization. Bill however took a liking towards Daniel and vouched for his recruitment seeing a little bit of himself in Daniel. when Natalie was first chosen to train Daniel she couldn't STAND him due to his skepticism towards the existence of cryptids and the fact that Daniel is a complete immature manchild and acting like a coward in the face of danger, which led to several instances of the two arguing and bickering not being able to get along with each other, however over time they begin to grow to understand each other and learn to work together and become partners. Daniel has major self-esteem issues due to the fact that his parents abandoned him when he was a child which is why he lived with their neighbors the Johnson family a lot who became like a surrogate family to him, their young daughter Cindy looking up to Daniel as like a big brother figure.

NATALIE SCHMITT

The adopted daughter of Bill and Animal X's top agent, Natalie is a moody, anti-social lone wolf (or as Daniel likes to call her, "a brooding teenager in an adult's body") who believes that she is capable of working alone without a partner. her emo personality is mostly due to the fact that her parents died in a plane crash in the Congo when she was a small child, leaving her to grow up as an orphan with Bill being the only family she's ever known. however her world is turned upside down on that fateful day she met Daniel, the average joe later turned Animal X agent. Natalie initially protested to the idea of a civilian being recruited into the Animal X Natural Mystery Unit, made even worse by the fact that Bill chose HER of all people to train him. however Bill had a reason for choosing Natalie to train Daniel, as Bill wanted her to open up to friends. Natalie at first couldn't STAND Daniel and his skepticism which led to several instances of the two arguing and bickering not being able to get along with each other, however over time they begin to grow to understand each other and learn to work together and become partners. Natalie carries a locket around her neck at all times that contains a photo of her with her family inside of it which is the only thing she has to remember her parents by, however she can't open it since the key was left with her missing twin brother who was presumed to have died in the plane crash with her parents.

MARCUS SCHMITT

Former adoptive son of Domino and Natalie's twin brother, Marcus has a long way to go to atone for his actions from when he was with the Black Dot. Initially our heroes do not trust him due to all the times he tried to kill them along with the cryptids they're trying to protect, but eventually he proves himself to be a trustworthy ally and becomes an agent of the Animal X: Natural Mystery Unit.

RODNEY

The team pet and cute marketable animal mascot for Animal X, Rodney is a cryptid known as a flying rod (or skyfish) who is often seen freely flying around Animal X HQ, usually following Daniel and Natalie around often accompanying them on their adventures. Rodney has his own little language which sounds like "bata-bata-bata-ba!" however Natalie and Bill can understand him (and eventually Daniel learns how to understand him), Rodney along with the rest of his kind have the ability to fly at supersonic speeds which allows them to teleport from one location to the other in the blink of an eye which makes him useful for sending messages to other Animal X agents in case one of their own is in distress. Rodney was a flying Rod that Bill found and befriended during his younger years as cryptozoologist and has been the Animal X Natural Mystery Unit's token animal sidekick ever since.
