The era of college: Deyna and Kathy were good friends and roommates. Two separate rooms with decorated rooms to each preference. The living room had a Tv like every other, and a few potted plants sat by the windowsill. Alongside a plaid couch and a soft rug that laid itself on the floor. A simple coffee table with another little plant to display its beauty.

Kathy's room had a simple twin-size bed and a desk with a shelf that sat by it. Plushies cornered her bed and stacked amongst each other. A lamp sat near the center back of the table, unfinished art pieces are scattered across the wooden desk with disheveled pens and paintbrushes on top of them. Books and figures sat in the shelvings. A closet near the shelf was filled with Kathy's everyday outfits to wear.

Deyna's wasn't too similar to Kathy's: Deyna also had a twin-size bed and a desk with a shelf to accompany it. Although it had a brighter scenery, plushies could be found in almost any niche of the room. Plants were to be found on the windowsill, similar to the living room; the window was mostly open every day. The cool breeze would hit any guests that came in. By the desk had a corkboard on the wall, full of memories from any moment she enjoyed. The shelf carried books and many cute figures. The desk had a lamp in the corner of the desk, and cups of supplies for art and sewing. Much tidier than Kathy's desk. Little star strands hung from the ceiling. Pastel shades were almost in any decoration.

Both split and paid the rent, cooked and cleaned. The entire dorm was kept clean and minimized on decorated until you enter their rooms.

Usually, they're too busy to hang out and go places due to needing to study a lot. It wasn't a problem for Kathy anyway, she isn't a social bug, while Deyna could make friends with anyone she just met. Though Deyna never knew that Kathy had another side to her.

"I'm heading out! I'll see you in a bit."

Deyna shouted through the echoing halls to notify her roommate about her absence.

No response.

"Maybe she's listening to something while doin' something else." She mumbled to herself, it couldn't be something too bad... She grabbed her bag and left, making sure the door was locked.

Deyna had gone out to go eat with her friends. A simple fancy restaurant that somehow her friends can afford. She always pondered where they could supply the money from.

"Geez, have you heard about that one rumor that got around the campus recently?" Stephanie said while laughing.
Everyone else gave a laugh and concerning look towards her. "Really? What is it? How come I've yet to hear about this?" A curious and monotoned voice ringed through her ear, Ripley. Deyna only seemed to listen along, observing everything around her. She didn't have much to say anyway. "Yeah! Me neither!! Tell us about it, Stephanie!" Rebecca exclaimed, shoving her face near Stephanie, wanting to know about the rumors. Deyna seemed to notice how the two of them scooted themselves closer towards Stephanie, trying to listen in.

"Eheheh.... um... Hey, Deyna, are you okay? You've been quiet for the majority of this hangout." Stephanie voiced out, trying to avoid the conversation and too worrying about her friend. Both Ripley and Rebecca turned towards Deyna, sharing the same concerning look. She looked up from her empty plate and stared at them for a bit before responding "Yeah, I'm just feeling worried for no reason. Though I want to listen along without much speaking from me." Deyna replied nonchalantly, a light tug on the ends of her lips appeared.

"Eh?? Are you sure? You can always tell us anything!" Rebecca's face was a few inches from Deyna's. This unexpected action had thrown her into shock. Rebecca usually was always like this, but it never seemed to rub into Deyna. She couldn't help but express a little giggle.

"Yes, I am sure." She smiled

The conversation was an interesting one. Rumors of someone robbing a market and managing to get away with it. Just where were they getting these from? Afterward, they paid for their meals and split up for the night, not forgetting to wave their goodbyes.

Deyna was walking down the silent night; rarely anyone was seen outside. The engulfing night sky with little bright specks accompanying it. There sat the white shining orb that came out every night, the moon; tonight was such a dazzling scenery. The cold breeze hit Deyna's face as she walked down the street, a small smile tugged on her lips.

More walking down the street, still silence surrounding her.

"I wonder what Kathy is up to right now..." Deyna mumbled to herself, noticing the visible breath.

Kathy usually sometimes stayed up late doing homework and other things. Now lately, Kathy has been more confined in her abode, only ever coming out from time to time. It felt off, but Deyna could not provide enough evidence to catch Kathy's abnormal routine.

Soon Deyna arrived at their shared dorm, inserting the key and twisting the knob open. The living room was silent, as expected. Should she check on Kathy? Could Kathy still be awake? What time even was it? Deyna grabbed her phone out of her pocket and checked the time: 12:30 AM. Maybe she was still awake, well, only one way to find out. Putting the phone back in her pocket, she began walking to where the rooms sat. Slowly got closer to Kathy's door, and twisted the doorknob open. Slowly eyeing the room, Kathy was asleep on her desk, her laptop was still on and open, along with the brightening lamp. Walking closer, Deyna noticed something on the laptop.

Deyna froze.

...

Was Kathy this kind of a person in private?

Kathy...Kathy. Was a discord kitten?!

Deyna almost vocalized a sound out, that would've been bad. She left the room immediately, leaving no change but to herself, the shocking experience glued with her when she sat on her bed.

"Holy... Is Kathy really that?" Deyna was still denying it, maybe she was seeing some things! No matter how many excuses she tried to tape over it, they would all fall. She had to accept it.

She had too.
Is this how Kathy is able to afford many things she never was able to back then?

The next day arrived slowly, Deyna did not sleep whatsoever. She managed to get ready and make breakfast for the two. Slowly chugging the coffee that is supposed to keep her awake. Eventually Kathy came out. Deyna could not face her, not after what she saw.
