Time and Time Again, I Wish for an End

Ch 1

'Most people when they die, they have....many regrets. They always have that wish to turn back time so they can see more, feel more, do more.....love more. If you had asked me a long time ago, I would have shared that same sentiment. Well.....not anymore. Because, time and time again, I wish for an end.'

A pair of dull blue eyes slowly opened. 

'Great...back here again.'

The individual slowly got up and stretched and took in his surroundings again. It was unfortunately familiar to him.

He got out of bed and faced a body length mirror. He looked at his reflection that stared back at him, as if taunting him for his misery.

Messy black hair with a slight white fade, tired blue eyes that resembled unpolished sapphires, his slightly sun kissed skin and other features that reminded him of them. Oh what he would give to escape this horrid world. 

Sadly it seemed like the gods decided against him and brought him here again.

This unfortunate soul is Griffin Stoneberg. He is the Young Master of the Esteemed Stoneberg family, a family whose legacy was built on wars and bloodshed. Fighting seemed to be in the veins of all who were born into this family. However, this all didn't really appeal to him, which is why he is considered to be the black sheep of the family.

Honestly he didn't even care anymore. Let his nasty relatives say whatever they want as they please, he could honestly not give a shit. He's heard the same things falling from their filthy mouths again and again, that he could recite it to you right now, by heart if you asked him.

I'm sure your curious as to how he ended up this way, well it all started with one small change. A reset.

Griffin was originally from the novel 'Of Bloody Love and Affections' with a beautiful female protagonist and yandere male leads. 

The story was as follows: A girl from Earth named ???? reincarnated into a different world after her death as reward for her kind and fair nature. She reincarnates into the body of a girl named Viola Dantes. ???? realizes that this Viola Dantes is actually the villainess of her favorite novel 'The Fierce Love of A Soldier.' In order to avoid any death flags she decides to change Viola's character. During the course of the story all the male leads of the original novel turned yandere tor her. They terrorized her, wanting her to love only them and them alone.

Enter Griffin Stoneberg.

In the original novel, he was merely a background character who was mentioned here and there. In the newly made world however, he became a canon fodder. He was visiting the empire to visit his sister, the original protagonist and Viola's new friend and met the girl through her. He gained her trust as she realized he won't end up a crazed yandere for her and he quickly became her big brother figure. They bond and become very close.

 Of course the male leads aren't pleased. One of the main male leads, the crown prince of their empire is infuriated at this new relationship between his fiancée and his old friend. Griffin who learns about how Viola is treated, confronts the prince. The prince being as evil as he is, considers this confrontation as 'blasphemy against a member of the royal family' which was a grave crime. Griffin is arrested and put into prison and would be executed in matter of days. Before the execution, the crown prince visits his old friend. It was here that Griffin says his most famous lines-

"It's no surprise you chose having her over the well-being of the empire.... You chose her over me after all."

Griffin's final words to his sister Grace and Viola was a simple goodbye accompanied by a sad smile.

Not even a few days after his execution, the empire of Aleuston is burnt down to the ground by a vengeful and sorrowful Grace. She is assisted by Viola who has had enough. One of the only people who has ever cared about her was ripped away from her by someone whom she detested from the bottom of her heart and she will not be quiet anymore. So yes, the novel ended on a bloody note.

If it only happened once, he wouldn't have minded. But as if dying once wasn't enough, the world around him decided to reset. He slowly turned self aware, he knew of both worlds. At first it was alright but it got worse and worse and now he can't take it anymore.

Before, he feared death. But now? Now he craved it.

He shook his head. He had decided in his previous life that he would change the cycle. Instead of being faithful to his assigned character, he would act how he wanted to act.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. 

Looks like he had something to look forward to after all......
