After the whole drama in Inazuma was finally over, Aether said goodbye to his friends there and started to make his way to Sumeru. It was quite the long journey, so he and Paimon decided to take a break after a while. At some point, they saw a majestic bird flying towards them. Aether put up his arm for the bird to land on it. The bird gave him a letter and flew away.
He opened the letter. It said: "Good day, traveler. How are you? It's been a while since we've seen each other. I've heard all about your journey through Inazuma! You haven't forgotten your promise have you? I'll be waiting~" when he finished reading the letter, he was quite confused. Who would send him a letter like this? And what promise? Then, it suddenly hit him. He immediately got up and packed the stuff he had lying around. He canceled his journey to Sumeru and got on a boat.
