"DAMIAN! I swear to Christ if I catch you cheating one more time I'm making you copy your entire textbook six times and I ain't playin'," Jimin said sharply, leaning against his desk as he observed his ninth graders making a practice exam for their upcoming test.
"I'm not cheating mister PJ!" Damian, one of the most stubborn fourteen year olds Jimin had ever met and would probably ever meet, complained indignantly as he sat at the back of the class. "I'm just making sure I pass."
Jimin rolled his eyes, shaking his head at the kid and his childish antics. "Just keep your eyes on the paper you punk, and stop calling me PJ, it's mister Park."
Damian pouted as he turned his attention to his own work. "Sure, mister Peanutbutter Jelly..." he muttered under his breath.
"What was that?"
"Nothing, mister Park."
Jimin sighed, deciding to pay the spikeyhaired kid no further attention because he knew deep down that that was exactly what the boy was after. Instead he checked his watch, counting down the last few minutes until time was up and his students had to stop making their practice exams.
He wandered to his chair, sitting down and silently praying that they did decent, since the principal had been complaining that their grades were all dropping a tad. Jimin had never taught a class with such little talent for math and it got him frustrated at times. It had been scientifically proven that human brains were shrinking, but Jimin didnt think the principal would accept that argument for why his class was failing.
The man had finally allowed Jimin to stop wearing turtlenecks and gloves to hide his tattoos, so he did not want to make him regret that choice."DAMIAN! Stop it!" Amanda, one of the more popular girls in Jimin's class, squealed through the room as Damian tugged at her pigtail like he was trying to rip it off her head.
"I just wanna check if I'd look good with a moustache!" The kid said in outrage. "You don't gotta be all bitchy about it..."
"DAMIAN!" Jimin's voice boomed through the class as he shot up from his chair, and everyone except Damian straightened up right away. "Alright that's it, take a seat at the front of the class, I'm done with you disrupting everyone."
Damian's face dramatically twisted with discontent. "No~ but Lily sits there!"
Jimin glanced at Lily, a girl with raven hair, pale skin and glasses who belonged to one of the quieter kids in class that never really seemed to talk. Jimin was pretty sure she was the smartest kid in the school, but since she barely ever spoke up and liked to keep her intelligence private, no one really ever noticed she was around.
"What's the problem with Lily, Damian?" Jimin asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
Damian glanced at the girl like she was old chewing gum stuck to the sole of his shoe. "I dunno... she's just- weird."
Lily lowered her head, hiding herself behind her bangs and thick glasses like she could somehow disappear if she wished it hard enough.
Children began to snigger, agreeing with Damian and gossiping quietly about Lily and all the ways she didn't fit in with the norm.
Jimin squinted around, feeling his patience level crash and burn the longer he listened to his children act like a bunch of stuck-up, braindead troublemakers. If they were half as smart as Lily they would spend their time focusing on themselves instead of others.
"Mkay, everyone be quiet," Jimin ordered, grabbing his ruler and slapping it against the desk. "Damian, go sit next to Lily and if I hear one word of complaint you will be spending your weekend inside, alone, in misery."
