Seeing her/him

The group of boys were silent as they sat in his room, clicking away at their phones. 

He, however, was lying on his bed with his eyes closed, daydreaming as he had found nothing exciting to do on his own device. His mind wondered through the many scenes of the books he read, the movies he watched and the videos he had scene. 

During this moment, the face of a beautiful girl, a smiling, cheery, bright girl popped into his mind. A smile took over his own face but disappeared just as quickly when the image vanished. 

One of his mates, the one who noticed his quick change of expressions, poked him in his side. "Dude, what was that?"

He opened his eyes as the rest of his friends looked at him, confused. He laughed, shrugging it off. "I just saw the most gorgeous girl ever.."

The guys exchanged a look before bursting out into laughter. 

"Probably one of those book characters you're always raving about!"

He nodded, turning his head to look out of the window, muttering to himself. "Probably."

But his gut told him otherwise.


Little did he know, thousands, maybe even millions, of light years away was the same girl, looking out of a window in her room too. 

Though she was alone. And she too had the same vision.

Except it was him.

And she was crying.

Because she knew.

And he didn't..
