I struggled against my attacker. He had a strong grip on my forearm and chest. A strand of dark hair tickled my jaw. My eyes widened and I stopped fighting.

-Sasuke?! I asked surprised.

He pushed me down further into the mattress.

-Sasuke, what are you doing here? I asked.

Sasuke stopped pushing me and stepped back. He was wearing the same shirt he always was, the dark blue one with the Uchiha crest on it. His pants were beige with dirt on his knees. He probably had to sneak into the village. I wondered how he got passed everyone, but than again a lot of ninja were gone on missions these days.

-I came here to check if everyone was okay, you included.

I was shocked for a moment.

-But, aren't you and Orochimaru trying to destroy the village? I questioned.

-No. Sasuke said.

It was silent for a moment.

-Aren't you going to elaborate on that?

He sighed.

-I never went to him in the first place. My objective was to make him think I did and then to lead him far away from the village.

-What? But how...?

He sat down next to me in bed and I sat up. His elbow was brushing against my bare arm, sending shivers up and down my spine.

-I wanted to go, but what you said made me think a lot. Team 7 means a lot to me. I wouldn't want to risk losing this.

He stopped talking for a moment. I heard him take in a big breath.

-Naruto, what do you see in me?

I turned bright red and looked away from him.

-Why-y do you want to k-know? I asked.

He took my chin in his hand and turned my face back towards him. He had something I hadn't seen in a long time. Right in front of me, Sasuke Uchiha was actually smiling.

-Because you said you liked me. I want to know what there is to like about me.

I sighed and he let go of my face. I found a clean spot on my floor and stared at it, thinking of how to answer.

Just when Sasuke was losing patience and he was about to get up, I started talking.

-Your determination, for one thing. I feel like you can do whatever you put your mind to. You're headstrong, you won't take no for an answer. You're so confident in yourself. That's something I wish I could have. I'm always over here doubting myself and then there's you. You're so smart, you always have the best plans.

I stopped and turned around to face him. He was looking intently in my eyes. His dark irises staring straight into my ocean blue ones.

-You have the prettiest eyes I've ever seen. The softest hair, I continued while stroking a strand of hair that was in front of his eyes. And the most amazing smile. I finished.

I somehow just realized what I had said and what I was doing and I turned bright red again. I glanced over at Sasuke to see him smiling even wider than before. I couldn't help but smile back at him.

Time seemed to be frozen as a gust of wind blew through our hair. Sasuke put his hand on my arm softly and pulled me in a laying position next to him. We stayed there happily watching the ceiling of my room.

-You should really clean your room, dobe.

-Aaarrrg. I know, I know, no need to rub it in, teme.

He chuckled quietly.

I was slowly falling asleep, my head falling on Sasuke's shoulder. He didn't say anything though. He put his head on top of mine and took my hand in his. I was so tired that I didn't even react to it. But deep down, I was happy.

I felt the bed shift as my side got colder. Sasuke's light footsteps were heard through the room. I felt the bed shift again as he probably rested his hand on it. I felt soft lips against my forehead. Sasuke got closer to my ear as I felt his breath against my neck and hair.

-Be strong Naruto. I'll be back for you.

And just like that, he was gone. Before I could even process what had happened, I finally let go of our reality and fell into a calm and deep slumber.
