After the whole adventure with Klein, Diluc returned to Floor 22 but was later given a message by Roy and needs his help. Because of this, Diluc messaged Asuna that he wouldn't come back for another day which Asuna responded with a sad okay. The two of them -Asuna and Yui- misses Diluc but they too have a good time in Mondstadt.
As for Diluc, he went to the location of the camp and saw several of the Lycian League and it's NPC Army all preparing for the final charge to the Capital city of Burn, where Zephiel stood there with his own army waiting for them.
Diluc went to the tent where Roy was along with his officers as they planned out a strategy, when Roy spotted Diluc, the two cousins greeted each other and would later on drew up several plans and countermeasures if things went south and not the sunny south but the dark and really really bad south. Like very and really bad south.
And when the sun rises up from the east. The Lycian League and the Empire of Bern attacked each other in an open field with the NPC Mercenaries first while the actual players waited in the sidelines, not wanting to get killed by other players or any NPCs With the sounds of steel clashing steel, pixels fading, and the roars of the Wyverns, the clouds went black as Roy and Diluc along with the actual guild charged from behind and took the Bern army by surprise.
The whole NPCs fighting each other along with a small group of Lycian soldiers were nothing but a mere distraction. With the actual army inside the capital city, the Wyvern knights came but they were out of commission as they were shot down by Yue and her bowmen. King Zephiel was amused by this and went to his throne, sitting down and heard the fighting inside his own castle.
The Lycian League who managed to defeat their enemy didn't kill them but were spared, seeing this. The Bern players surrendered and both Diluc and Roy went to the throne room where they saw Zephiel with his weapon in hand. Roy unleashed his sword. The Binding Blade and along with Diluc, the two of them fought Zephiel.
With every strike from the two of them, both Diluc and Roy managed to defeat Zephiel. As he was about to explain himself, the whole floor shook as a powerful earthquake shook the whole floor, though the others were unaffected by it. Then as the earthquake subsides, it was then followed by a booming roar and the sky roared with thunder as a huge dragon came down from the heavens. Seeing the NPCs fighting each other, the Dragon lets out a breath of darkness killing them. The players there retreated.
Looking outside, Roy charged at the dragon, Diluc wanted to stop him but he couldn't, Roy explained to Diluc that he was the only one who can defeat the dragon. Diluc reluctantly lets him go to fight the dragon, wanting to help. Zephiel called Diluc and gave him a claymore. The blade of the sword was wrapped up in flames.
