June put her phone away and looked at Chris, sitting on her bed with his head in his hands.

"I hate lying to her," she huffed, sitting next to him.

He massaged his temples and gave her a side glance, "I know, I'm sorry."

"Have you called Rogue?"

He nodded his head, "She wants to meet me to talk in person."

A silence full of tension fell in the room and, eventually, June put a hand on Chris's shoulder.

"Do you really think she's mine?"

She sighted, "I don't know. Do you?"

"I don't remember anything about that night,"

"But you said there was a condom on the floor!"

He was still shaken, but he managed to give her a side glance and smirked, "I thought the mere idea made you throw up in your mouth."

"Mentally, I did. I still am," she chuckled and positioned herself on the bed with her legs crossed, in order to face him.

"When are you meeting her?" she asked, after a brief silence.

"She's coming here on Thursday, after I finish filming. She's taking the baby."

June widened her eyes, "And you think you're ready to meet her?"

"Well, if she is my daughter, I already lost a lot of time," he shook his head, looking away from her.

"Do you want me to be there?"

He hesitated for a few minutes, then shook his head again, "No. No, I've already asked you too much. And I think it's something I have to do alone."

She nodded, "Okay, but I have a free afternoon on Thursday, so if you change your mind, just come knocking at my door."

"Thanks, June."

"We'll get through this," she smiled warmly and wrapped her arms around his shoulders.

He placed his hand on her right arm and they stayed like that for a while, without the need to talk.

So, yeah, every time I say that I think my life is getting more complicated, it gets worse and worse. I'm not getting into details, but it was the worst months I've had in a long time.
Still, I apologise for disappearing.
