July came like June is only a few minutes past, it was the mid days already. I still feel so half alive and barely alive. Surprisingly, Tong didn't stop chatting me which I know he will just stop doing it soon. I think he's only doing this to make himself superior, and I am starting to hate him in my head. I thought, but I can't, there's this weird warm fuzzy feeling inside me that I could not shake off so, instead I walked back to my seat with a smile at the tip of my teeth hiding behind my lips.

The midday's sun is out and scorching, the squeaking rusty parts of the ceiling fans above out heads is a typical University set up in this region. The students walk by as if they know who knows what's what and who's who. The cool sea breeze can be felt kissing on your cheeks with cool minty feeling and the annoying noise by the machine who fixes the grandstand really does get into my nerves but other than me, no one seems to notice that. The class was pretty much alive towards the given activity. I had my seat reserved by Echo between him and Tracey, another friend who, as much as my upfront attitude is also as bitchy as I am with her chic medieval gothic style with her black eyeliners, and fleek eyebrows and all that, sitting beside her is Kym, a woman who pretty much goes around prancing like Maria Clara, which is given since she's also in the world of pageantry. We were in a circle position discussing the subject matter, little did I know; Tong sat across the room along his other group mates and unlike them, he wasn't paying attention. His eyes were fixed in one direction, smiling. I looked behind me only to face a wall at my back, so I looked back at him, he wasn't looking at my direction now, and his eyes are fixed on a book laid on top of his armrest. Silently laughing.

What a twat. Did he fool me just by looking? annoyed, I sneered with a wretched smile on my face flushing. I faced back to our group discussion for a moment I felt a sudden jolt down my spine the same feeling when I get spooked. Jho was looking at me with her narrowed eyes and a lopsided grin as if she knew what happened. I made contact. She dropped her head downward. I tried to shake it off and looked back at that asshole and this time, he was looking at me smiling. I sneered.

Class came to an end. Jho, Kym and I headed to the Red Canteen: our usual spot for lunch. I ordered a fillet with a steamed cabbage sautéed with scrambled egg topped with sesame seed on the side dish and went back to my seat so Jho and Kym can now both go get some food for themselves while I wait for Echo and Tracey who has no sign of showing up to school yet- again. The flares of the scorching sun above our heads protected by the roof can still be felt. The heat and sweat and noise from every corner erupt. The exhaust fan is working but nothing seems to be making the situation a little better- only worse. The clattering noise from the kitchen chimneys.

The banging of the utensils towards the plate, the chit chat is now making a huge irritating noise of a crowd. People to talking altogether, others were arguing whether they should eat there or not, others were looking for available vacant seats since all seats seems to be occupied. The cook across the kitchen shouts inaudibly loud as if someone is playing her fire. As I sit there with exhaustion from the heat and all that noise polluting my golden silence my phone flashed and as I opened it, there was nothing but a single question in my messenger.

"Where are you?" a message came from the very pain in the ass who successfully fooled me earlier. It was him, Tong, I didn't move a reply. A few seconds past, the Kanorianz are walking towards the place that we are in as Yong walking ahead of them coming towards me in a split second.

"Hi, Voltaire! Why are you alone?" asking along with all the enthusiasm he has in him and the genuine smile he usually displays along with the whirlpool beside his chubby baby cheeks.

"Hey, Yong. No, I am not alone, Jho and Kym are over there, and I am waiting for Echo to show up-." I replied smiling and sighed as if I ran out of strength in me and before I can finish my sentence; Marc, one of the Kanorianz called out for him. Yong patted on my shoulder as a sign of saying goodbye without actually saying it. Little did I know, Tong was already sitting at the very table that I reserved for me and my gang. Smiling. He's taken the seat beside me that was originally to be my bag's place usually when Tracey's out of radar. Jho and Kym came to the table next carrying their lunch on a platter dropping it on the table with a bang as if the two of them are annoyed or pissed. Jho and Kym stared at each other then looked at me, eager to say something.
