The entire palace was decorated like never before with beautiful flowers. I sat down on one of the sofas. The other one was Kunwar Pratap's.

A lady started doing the Mehendi on my hands and another started on my feet. Phool and I hadn't thought out the bangle situation and I ended up having to remove all of the bangles from my hands.

Once Phool and Heer finished their henna, they went to go dance with the others. I watched them with enjoyment while the lady finished my henna. She drew drums, shrifad, dhula, dhulan and many many symbols of marriage.

"Bindhraja ka naam kaha chhipayu?" She asked me once she was done.

"Uh..." I didn't know where. I didn't want him to find it right away. I wanted it to be as hard to find as possible. I showed her the perfect spot and she wrote his name out over there. I smiled victoriously to myself, this would surely take him a good amount of time to figure out.

After a few minutes, the groom and other boys entered. Kunwar Pratap sat down on the sofa beside me. We exchanged a quick glance before the sangeet began.

If there was one thing you needed to know about Phool and Heer, it was that they were extremely competitive. They needed to win the sangeet competition no matter what. They had been practicing since the engagement about a week ago. They had made sure they were synchronized and they had even color-coordinated their outfits.

Chand Kanwar started it off strong from the groom's side as probably the youngest of the group. I smiled at her for encouragement.

"Wah wah Ramji
Jodi kya banai
Bhaiya aur bhabhi ko
Badhai ho badhai
Sab rasmon se badi hai jag mein
Dil se dil ki sagai
Aapki kripa se yeh
Shubh ghadi aayi
Bhaiya aur Bhabhi ko
Badhai ho badhai"

Maan Kanwar and Kunwar Shakti joined her for the next verse. All the adults were seated having fun as spectators.

"Chup baithe hai
Dekho bhabhi yeh
Kaise ainthe hai

Aaise bade hi bhale hai
Aaise bade hi bhale hai
Maana thode manchale hai

Par aap ke sivah
Kahin bhi na phisle hai"

I smiled confidently at that. If there was one thing I was certain about it was that he loved me just as much as I loved him if not more. I looked at him and he gave me a shy smile. Maan added another verse causing me to laugh:

"Dekho dekho khud pe
Bhabhi itrai
Bhaiya aur bhabhi ko
Badhai ho badhai
Sab rasmon se badi hai jag mein
Dil se dil ki sagai
Wah wah Ramji
Arre wah wah Ramji
Wah wah Ramji"

Then, Heer led Patta in. The poor child has been trapped in this for no reason. Heer and Phool had written out the verse he had to sing and had made him memorize. I gave him a small thumbs up as he began his little dance:

"Suno jijaji
Ajee aapke liye
Meri jiji ne
Bade tap hai kiye
Mandiron mein kiye phere
Mandiron mein kiye phere
Pooja saanjh savere
Teen lok taintees devon
Ko yeh rahi ghere
Jaisi maine maangi thi
Waisi bhabhi payi
Jiji aur jija ko
Badhai ho badhai "

Patta finished his part off with the help of Heer and Phool before running back off to the sidelines. Everyone got together for the last verse:

"Sab rasmon se badi hai jag mein
Dil se dil ki sagai
Wah wah Ramji
Arre wah wah Ramji
Wah wah Ramji"

They finished the song off and then the girls took this cue to start their song- of course, Patta was a part of this whether he liked it or not. The groom's side went off again with another song. This time Chandrasen and Sujamal also joined.
