4 - Cave

You woke up as soon as you heard a yawn.

"Good morning to you Y/n." Toothless roared softly as he stretched. You flicked your tail at him.

"Hi."

Hiccup called Toothless from outside. You raced Toothless to him.

"Hey bud! Hi Y/n. We're gonna go try to find a new dragon. Y/n, you can come with us." Hiccup said, wrapping his hands in a leather strap.

"Yay!" you said. To Hiccup, it was a delightful roar.

"Ah there you are Astrid! Uh um, yeah I'm just gonna go get everyone else." Hiccup mumbled.

Astrid shrugged and got onto Stormfly's back.

"Hiccstrid." you said to Toothless. 

He tilted his head, confused. 

"I'm not explaining it." 

The twins and Snotlout came around the corner, bringing their dragons. Barf and Belch were arguing with Hookfang.

"I'm more powerful! I can light my whole body on fire without getting hurt!" Hookfang yelled.

"But we can blast things with gas!" Barf argued.

"Shut up, the whole lot of you." you said as they got close.

They glared at each other but shut their mouths.

(Timeskip to everyone being awake and here)

"Okay, let's go. We can be back by sunset." Hiccup said to the riders. You were glad that no one wanted to ride on you.

You followed Toothless since you didn't want to follow the twins or anything. Fishlegs or Astrid could be nice too, I guess. Still though.

"Okay, let's just fly over some islands and explore them." Hiccup said after a while. You looked up at the sky, it had super fluffy clouds.

"How about that one? Nice rocky terrain with a couple of pine trees on the other side." Fishlegs pointed, one hand on a telescope thingy.

"Sure. Let's go, gang." Hiccup pulled Toothless into a smooth dive. You flipped around and dived while flying in a spiral.

"You know you looked ridiculous." Hookfang grunted to you.

"I don't care."

You all landed on a pebbly ground. Two cave entrances were to the left and the right had a dark forest.

"Maybe we split up. This island's pretty big." Hiccup said.

"Ok then. I'll take Fishlegs and the twins to the left one." Astrid shrugged. Hiccup nodded.

"Okayyyyy that leaves me with Snotlout and Y/n." Hiccup groaned slightly.

"It's like a fun road trip!" Snotlout placed his arm around Hiccup's shoulders.

"I guess." Toothless's ears drooped.

You head into the forest with your group, your paws softly padding on the grassy ground. The forest was a bit dark with the thick trees, making the dragons' eyes glow slightly.

"This place smells like wet bark." Toothless commented.

"Yeah, this place is comfy bud." Hiccup replied. You snorted in amusement.

"Hey, look at this rock!" Snotlout picked up a stone with a circular hole in it. He put it to his eye to see through.

"Gimme that." Hiccup grabbed the rocks from his hands and traced his fingers around the insides of the hole.
