IT HAD BEEN eleven months since that day in the school bathrooms and Maggie Fulmer had not cried once. There had been so much blood. So much that the school had given up cleaning it out of the grout and just resulted to closing the stall from use.
SHE JUST DIDN'T understand why her sister had done it. She had everything going for her, a good boyfriend, two weeks away from graduating high school, a way out of Hawkins, with Maggie having worked hard to graduate with her sister despite the eleven-month difference between the two.
YET IT WAS all over in a blink of an eye, a tragedy that overshadowed the graduation of the class of 85', so much that Maggie barely remembered her graduation too focused on comforting her Dad through as each day passed.
NOW ELEVEN MONTHS later her Dad still hadn't returned to work, leaving Maggie to work double shifts at the Hawkins Bean, the local cafe, as someone had to pay the bills. All her Dad asks of her is to grab a new movie from the Family Video store every time she returns from her shift as he would rather hide within picture-perfect movie families than face his own surviving family member.
WITH SUCH FREQUENT trips to the Video Store, Maggie was well-equipped with the employees there, Robin Buckley and Steve Harrington, one might even call them acquaintances. But it's not until a routine Saturday trip on her way home when she overhears a mission to find Eddie Munson, that causes her to drop her plans for the day to help her new acquaintances to find her sister's ex-boyfriend whose in hiding and very well could be a murderer.

considering how many times i've nearly written a stranger things fic since i joined wattpad, it seems very strange to finally be here. but here we go!
