Esther immediately recalled that night, it was about a decade ago.
Blurred scenery and bit of dialogue was remembered.
A strange unembodied voice.
Offering her something.
And that's when she remembered.
The reason why Rapunzel was so important.
He wanted her appearance.

It seemed that Esther just didn't understand what he meant.
The terms of the deal were completed.
He fulfilled his part, as did she-by force.
"Mommy?" Rapunzel insisted.
"Nevermind honey, I think I understand what happened."
"What happened?"
Gothel brought Rapunzel up to a mirror, dragging her by her wrist, "You're invisible."

Distraught, young Rapunzel began feeling around her face.
Her soft skin now covered in goosebumps.
"Mommy I don't understand. What happened to me."
Esther could hear the pitch shift in the girl's voice.

She paused.
Her eyes looking in another direction.
Confused, shamed, worried.
What would she be able to say to the press?

"I don't know dear."
