Trigger Warning: Attempt Murder.
Chapter 41
I left him alone there, confused and bewildered, not wanting to talk about the traumatic accident.
"Are—"
"Shoo Aiden out of my house." I cut Jake off and went inside my room.
I was about to close the room of my door when his hands made it stop. He looked at me with worry but I remained my stoic face, already tired of showing others my tears.
"You need to ea—"
"Let me rest, Jake. Please." I pleaded, already tired.
He sighed and let go of the door. I gave him my small smile before shutting the door close.
Alone once again in the dark, I sat on the ground and hugged my bended knees as I sobbed again for my daughter's death.
Bringing myself back to the day where my daughter was still healthy, I can't help but to blame everything to myself, not knowing everything would end up this way just because of my impulsiveness . . .
"Happy 1st birthday our baby Kel! What a healthy baby!" Pixie's shout echoed around my room, I can't help but to sigh when my sleeping daughter started to cry.
"Oh sorry! Was our baby Kel sleeping?" She covered her mouth.
I glared at her and swayed my wide awake daughter once again, yawning as I didn't get to sleep yesterday because of her cry.
"You should rest, Miracle. I'll take care of our birthday girl." She said excitedly and clapped.
"No. I'm the mother. I should be doing this." I yawned again.
"Come on! Just because you survived a cancer doesn't mean your body can take everything! Sleep!"
"It's been a year, Pixie. Stop exaggerating."
She was about to grab my baby but I dodged my baby off her hold as a sign of protecting Kel from an endangered specie.
"You don't want to? Fine! I have my cute baby sister Piper!" She crossed her arms as she pout.
"Here." I acted, her eyes glimmered but it disappeared when I jokingly dodged it back. "Nah, just kidding." I laughed.
My baby Kel laughed at the movement. I looked at her and she was giggling while moving her little arms as she stared at my face with her huge blue eyes.
I felt like all my drowsiness vanished at the sight of her. I smiled back and kissed her nose, she giggled once again.
"Let me carry her! Come on!" Pixie stomped her feet.
"You love mom? Hmm? Who loves mom. My baby Kel." I tickled her with my nose.
Her loud giggle reverberated my ears and filled my heart with love as I try to fit in the extravagant happiness she's giving me by just the shape of my smile.
"I love you, my baby Kel. Happy birthday." I showered her with my kisses.
"If you don't give me Kel then I'll go back to Piper!" Pixie threatened.
