Cuts and bruises
Isn't this what love is?
Mashed and tangled
But it's so pretty
Captured and wrangled
It's a pity
You didn't turn out to be true
I was caught up in the pretty you
Outside appearance, not inner truth
Like slow-building cavity in your tooth
Falling in thirds
Cut by words
And bruised by looks
Mentally physical marks
Get lost in books
Escape the sharks
"Who? Who? Who?"
What to do, what to do
Stuck in a connection fused
With iron shackles, break free
Did you know you bruised
All the best parts of me?

PoetryPoems and pictures, filled with back-and-forth, battling emotions. Some are lighthearted as can be, practically fit for a children's story, while some are dark and wild, taking a nature the opposite of mild.
