Kat was shivering by the time she got back to the bakery, Alfie wasn't there. she went up to his office while Henry got the word out that he had found her. she started pulling off her dripping clothes when Alfie came in, he looked mad until his eyes met hers. His face soften significantly.

'Where were you?' he questioned hugging her. half dressed, soaking wet and freezing cold.

'You were looking for me?' she questioned grabbing his sopping jacket in between her cold numb fingers.

'course I was. You said you were going home... you kept telling me you didn't need security and I listened and this is what it got us.'

'I was fine.' She assured him.

'I got home and you weren't there, no note, no anything. I thought someone grabbed you. I thought you were laying in a ditch somewhere.' Alfie told her pulling her closer.

'Alfie I'm fine. I went to visit Ada... I... it doesn't matter. I'm don't with her.' she told him and he pulled back, screamed for Ollie to get a few towels for them and promptly pulled her free of her drenched clothes wrapping her in a towel.

'you remember the first time we met?'

'Of course. You were all handsome and mysterious.'

'and you were beaten to a bloody pulp, you were in so much pain and so tired you fell asleep right here... I thought if you were mine I would never let you get hurt again.' Alfie told her kissing her head as he peeled off his shirt and jacket, tossing them aside with her wet clothes on the floor.

'I'm fine.' She repeated.

'I'm putting security on you. Don't complain about it. Give your husband some peace of mind when I'm not around to look out for you myself, yeah?' Alfie told her.

'Why didn't you tell me Tommy threatened to blow up the bakery?' alfies eyes moved away from her but she grabbed his chin in her hand and forced him to look at her. 'Alfie.' She demanded.

'I didn't want to worry you. You just made peace with them... I didn't want that to... he didn't blow it up and I'm fine.' Alfie told her.

'I would have liked to know.' Kat informed him.

'how did you find out?'

"That's not the problem Alfie! The problem is you not telling me things that revolve my family.'

'One time-'

'And Arthur, the time Arthur and you had a meeting and he went berserk?' kat reminded him and he sucked in a deep breath. 'I can handle the truth Alfie, I'm not some fragile, breakable little thing.' She reminded him.

'I know. I know... damnit I'm sorry. I didn't want to lose you.'

'what did you do?' he looked down to her. 'what happened that night with Arthur. Really? Don't lie to me Alfie please. I'm still gonna love you.' Kat told him.

'You promise?' Alfie questioned and he sounded pathetic. He sounded like a scared little boy and he hated it. He couldn't tell her. he couldn't. but he had to or else he was going to lose her anyways.

'I promise Alfie, you cant say anything that would make me leave. I love you.' She assured him.

'Fuck...' he kissed her long and hard, their lips molding, hands wrapping around one another.

'Alfie' she coed.

'Give me tonight, tomorrow ill tell you everything.' He told her.

'Okay.' So they spent all night warming each other up and when morning came he made them tea and curled back up next to her in bed. telling her everything she didn't know. She stayed silent the whole time which made Alfie worry but he kept going, getting it all out in the open. When he was done, she got out of bed, wrapped a robe around her naked body and went to the bathroom promptly throwing up.

'Kat?' Alfie said running to her. 'kat I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.' He told her over and over again. She shut the lid and leaned back against the wall, he wrapped an arm around her. 'remember you promised.' He whispered. She leaned into him, she didn't speak a word for the next three days. It almost killed him. If she went one more day without speaking he was sure he would have died.
