Cold. It was very cold. That was the first thing Dazai felt waking up. Dazai pulled his jacket closer to his body, which despite his excellent control over, was shaking. his feet and legs felt numb and his nose stung, the ground was hard and cold sucking up all the heat his body produced.

Living in uninhabitable places was nothing new to Dazai. he had lived in a shipping container for years surrounded by probably toxic waste, not that he had cared. living in this painful excuse for a house was an upgrade from the shipping container. Even if he had once been used to living in one, it still had been years since he had and he had now grown accustomed to a certain type of lifestyle. That was an extremely shabby apartment provided by the ADA but it had heating and cooling so it was an upgrade. Dazai did however wonder how Chuuya was. He knew the others were accustomed to an extravagant lifestyle and it had been even longer since Chuuya had slept on something other than his costume-made bed. Dazai slowly sat up and turned to his right. he had expected to see Chuuya curled up shaking just like he was. as he had been right about the curled up part.

The shaking on the other hand, not so much. Dazai saw that Chuuya looked completely fine, he remembered the fact that as the small animal he is, Chuuya ran extremely warm. Dazai used to tease him about it all the time saying that because he was so angry his small body couldn't handle it so it turned it into heat. that had earned Dazai a broken arm and a bruised eye. A loud snore stirred Dazai from his thoughts. Dazai couldn't help but roll his eyes and sigh, typical of his dog to be warm while his master suffered. Dazai slowly stood up, leaning against the wall to stabilize himself as the blood flowed back into his legs. He slowly walked closer to Chuuya, he was as careful as possible not to cause the floors to creak so as not to wake the sleeping chibi.

though he had no reason to be cautious. two reasons. Chuuya was a heavy sleeper, he could sleep through a gunfight, which he has. Two of the floors were so old and so worn that it was impossible for them to not creak. He made his way over to where the door should have been and slipped out of the room.

He looked around. It had been dark when he had gotten back from his shopping spree so he hadn't had a chance to look around. Chuuya had chosen a house on the outskirts of Mustafa. It had taken Chuuya a while to find this place and even then it wasn't the best. it was old, so old the second floor was unusable because of the tree that had fallen into the roof. said the tree was also probably the reason it was so cold. The tree had taken out part of the wall on the first floor leaving it exposed. There was no heating or electricity, and almost all of the furniture was unusable, except for one chair.

as Dazai made his way out of the room and into the hallway he took note of the fact that he and Chuuya seemed to have slept in what would have been the living room, granted it was hard to tell. The only other rooms Dazai had access to were the kitchen and the bathroom. both had seen a much better day.

The bag of supplies Dazai had brought back was lying on the one usable chair in the middle of the room. It lay on top of the magazines Chuuya had s̶t̶o̶l̶e̶n̶ ̶ borrowed. There was no food, just an almost empty bottle of water. turned away and headed for the "door". it wasn't really a door anymore of a hole in the wall made by the tree that was now being used as a door.

stepping out into the crisp morning Dazai looked around. many old houses were surrounding them, almost all were abandoned. There were empty plots with construction equipment on them, giving Dazai the feeling that he and Chuuya would have to find another place to stay.
