after 2 years i stood in front of the 'hard deck bar',god it's been so long but it looks the exact same. about a week ago i got a call from an unknown number, turns out it was admiral bates, he said the there's a new mission. then a couple days later natasha, phoenix texted saying 'we're going back to top gun!'
now here i am, walking into the same bar i got drunk at with the group 2 years ago
i walked up to the bar that only had very few people because it was only around 3:30 pm
"hey penny" i said out loud, she turned around and gasped "it's good to see you"
she walked up towards me with a big smile on her face "wow today is just a great day" she told me "you look great lexi"
"thanks penny, you do too" i tell her
i heard my name being called from behind me, i tuned and saw phoenix with a pool stick in her hand and a beer in the other
"woah" she let out a breath "is that scout?!" she called out making me laugh
i walked up towards her with a smile "the one and only" i say giving her a hug "you look nice phoenix"
"i know right" i rolled my eyes at her "you look smokin though, $20 boys the boys are gonna be up on you"
"no they aren't" i say with a shrug "wouldn't mind if they were though" i smirked
"there are my boys, payback and fanboy" she points at the two boys that are beside her
i waved at them and said "my name is scout" i told them "well that's my callsign but real name is lexi"
the both laughed "it's nice to meet you, i'm payback" i shook his hand and then i shook fanboys
"nice to meet y'all t-"
"lexi scout?! is that you" i looked behind my shoulder seeing jake, hangman, he had a smirk on his face
i turned my body completely towards him "hangman, so great to see you" i sarcastically said
"bet so" he still is cocky "you loo good, really good" he told me and phoenix bumped my shoulder
"20 bucks" she said making me roll my eyes and pushed her shoulder
"hey coyote" i waved to him, he was standing behind hangman
"hey scout" he stepped in front of hangman "miss me?" he put his arm around my shoulder
"you know it did" i winked at him, we've always had a flirty relationship. but i was just the flirty type i guess "so how have you boys been?"
"good" hangman started "better now that your here" he flirted
i gave him a fake smile and titled my head "your so sweet"
"who that?" phoenix asked looking at the man who was sitting on a stool while eating peanuts
"when did you get in?" i felt coyotes chest against my back
"i've been here the whole time" the man with glasses said
"he's a stealth pilot" hangman said "literally"
"i'm actually a weapons system officer" the man told all of us, i moved away and leaned my back against the pool table
"with no sense of humor" hangman said from next to me, and i smacked his chest "what?"
"what's your name?" i asked him and he sat his peanuts down
"bob"
"no you call sign" payback told him "what is it?"
"uh" he stuttered "bob"
i met out a laugh and phoenix started talking "bob your my new backseater"
"guess so" he nodded at her words and phoenix handed him the pool stick
"well isn't this gonna be fun" i said when i saw rooster walk through the doors
