jake and i were in my jeep wrangle, and i was driving us to the beach. where maverick had texted us to go.
"so why do you think we're going to the beach" jake pulled me from my thoughts, his hand was attached to by right one as i drove with my left hand
"watch us have to do like a 5 mile run on the beach" i groaned and looked at him for a split second "god that would suck"
he let out a laugh as i parked my jeep at the 'hard deck bar' since we were meeting at the beach that was right behind it
"let's get this over with" i jumped out of the car and waited for jake to get out and walk with me "hurry up slow poke"
he walked over to me and grabbed my hand. i was wearing a nike shorts and sports bra, had no shirt on. same with jake, he looked good
we walked to the rest of the group, who were all waiting for us "finally yall are here" phoenix dramatically said and i rolled my eyes
"whatever" i laughed "so what are we doing?"
i looked at mav and he started talking "football" he said simply "but offense vs defense. we need two team leaders"
jake then spoke up "i'll be one" i laughed, of course he will
"and me" we all darted our eyes from jake to bradley "i want to pick first to"
maverick cleared his throat and nodded "alright"
"phoenix" rooster said and phoenix moved to stand beside him
"maverick" jake said, wow i'm not his first pick
"coyote" he went to stand my rooster
"payback" jake spoke
rooster looked at fanboy then said "fanboy"
"fritz" jake smirked at rooster

"halo" rooster picked the second to last girl
"bob" jake picked the last person to pick that wasn't me
"what the fuck? i'm actually the last person?" i rolled my eyes upset and walked with roosters team
"sorry babe" i ignored jake
i have to be good, the best now, i thought
maverick handed us the blue ball and he kept the orange football
hondo was the referee, and once he blew the whistle we all went wild
"go long" phoenix told me and i nodded, she passed it to me as i ran across the 'football field' onto the other teams side
i caught and and ran last the line, making the first touchdown
"hell yeah!" i yelled out and phoenix, coyote, and rooster starting running towards me while cheering
"good to have you on our team scout" rooster said "didn't imagine you to be this good"
i smirked at him then flipped him off, he laughed and pushed me to the side
it's been around 10 minutes and it was 6-3 and obviously roosters team was winning, probably because i'm on it
i saw rooster run past jake who was gonna tackle him, he threw the ball down, chest bumped coyote and did a little dance in the air
woah, jake should definitely do that
and as if he heard me, i looked behind me and saw jake throw the ball behind him and once it he the ground the boys all fell into the sand (you know what i'm talking about? i don't really know how to explain it lmao)
he saw me looked at him so he winked and of course this made be blush and i walked away ready to start another round
i stood behind rooster who was going to throw the ball under his legs (you know the hut thing- i don't know how to explain football)
"hut" he yelled, throwing the ball. i successfully caught it and sprinted for my life, i ran past jake and maverick who both tried to take me down but i dodged them
i cheered when i made another touchdown "take that babe" i smirked at him and he walked closer to me
"that was hot" he told me and i just rolled my eyes, i leaned up and kissed him
"sad i'm not on you team?" i asked
he nodded "very"
"sucks to suck then" i shrugged with a smile and walked away from him
i saw maverick walking away, going to sit down and relax. i gave him a jokingly look of disappointment and he just waved me off with s smile
we started the beach game and bob finally caught a catch that was thrown to him
"whoo bob" we all yelled and cheered for him, rooster threw him up on his shoulders as we chanted his name
during the middle of our last and final game, hondo, the ref caught the ball making me yell "you jut supposed to do that" as a joke
all the boys talked them down causing halo, phoenix and i to laugh at them

it was soon after dark and we were all packed in the bar, drinking a few beers
"so you and hangman?" phoenix asked me, leaning up on the bar
"don't act surprised, remember that one time in the naval academy you wanted to make a bet that jake and i will one day fall in love with each other" i took a sip of my beer "but i got so mad and didn't talk to you until you apologized"
"god, that was so long ago" she said "almost 10 years ago"
"yep, i was just out of high school when i went to the naval academy" i told her
"we're so old now, 30 and 28" phoenix exclaimed "i wanna another beer, want one?" she asked me
i shook my head "i'm driving tonight"
"cmon, pretty face will drive you home, hasn't drinker one bit" she said
i looked around and saw that he was drinking water, huh weird
"sure why not" i tell her "can we got some shots over here" i yelled making phoenix and i laugh
