Abigail

Abigail spun, hands raised to attack whoever was behind her. What she saw shocked her.

Standing there was Naeus, her old advisor.

"You," Rain demanded. As she looked back at him, she saw that he had summoned his Greatsword. "What are you doing here?"

"Do you think that I would stand by and let you corrupt the mind of the Nether Princess?" Naeus replied. "If so, your more of a fool than I realized."

"I don't need your help Naeus," Abigail spat at him. "Not after what you did to me."

"Princess, as I tried to explain, I did what was necessary," Naeus replied.

"Throwing my dead body into a pool of lava to obtain the Nether Star was necessary?" Abigail demanded.

Rain looked between the two of them, confused. "So, it looks like you two have some issues."

"Don't get your hopes up," Abigail retorted. "I hate you just as much."

"Really Princess," Naeus responded, "You'd equate me to the Dragon Tamer? The one who killed Glutton?"

"Yes, I would," replied Abigail. She glared at him with loathing.

"Ok, now I'm curious," Rain said. "What did he do?"

"What did he do?" Abigail exclaimed. "I'll tell you what he did."

Abigail floated in the blackness, alone. Death was more peaceful that she had assumed. Time had lost all meaning for her. She could not tell if she had died mere minutes ago, or if it had been years.

Suddenly, something disturbed the peace. A ripple in the blackness. Suddenly, a portal erupted next to her, sucking her in.

She was in a body, laid down on a table in the Nether. A skeletal figure stood beside her, with his hands hovering over her.

Abigail jerked up suddenly, throwing the figure back. She scrambled away from him in fear.

"Princess, it's me," the skeleton told her. Abigail did not relax.

"Who are you?" she demanded. "Where am I?"

"Your memories have not returned yet," it replied, "Give it time."

As Abigail sat there, she felt the words come true. Memories poured into her mind.

Abigail stumbled, a spike of pain running through her head.

"See?" Naeus said, "Just like I told you. Your memories are returning.

Abigail wanted to scream. There were so many memories. She couldn't deal with them all at once.

She remembered her life with Rain at Glacierford, their run from the Frostbourn undead, and her eventual death. But then she remembered another life, a life in the Nether. A life where she hated Rain and tried to kill him.

So many contradictions, impossibilities. She could tell that there were some holes in her memories. She couldn't remember how she had gotten from one life to the other. But oh, the pain.

She couldn't deal with this. She couldn't-

Half of the members vanished. Abigail breathed, in and out. She was in control. She looked up, realizing who was with her.

"Naeus," the Nether Princess said, "what-?"

"I revived you," he explained. " I reconstructed your body and transfered your consciousness into your new body."
