vulnerable

Little girl, afraid of needles
Her hair of a pinewood,
forest eyes
On a circle boat, small and blue
In a ball of ocean, she goes on
and on

Tight on a lighter, her fingers loose
Off, on, black and white
She was a ghost, maimed and bruised
Who weeped in dark, died in light

Distant mountains capped with snow
Vanishing red, crystal whites
Beauty comes, horizon goes
She sails other away, that panic, fright

She was like sunflowers of the never-ending dawns
Chasing star they can never catch
In a light filled fields where the sparrows fawn
Anchor heart, hardened skies

One less breath, slow, relentless
When she burns peace on her finger tips
Little girl, terrified of joy
Craving chaos with that panic, fright
