וTed's P.O.V•×
As laid on my bed talking about nonsensical things, I watched as (Y/N) began to fall asleep. It was adorable and peaceful to watch. A smile grew wider and wider along my face as my words became quiet. I watched as their face softened, their chest rising and falling.
I didn't want to end the call right away, instead, I muted myself to be able to absorb the moment for just a while longer. It was a comfortable silence. The rushing of cars passing by my apartment. "If only I could have you in my arms right now." I thought to myself. This was one of the first times I was in a relationship like this. But it was something about them that absolutely drew me in.
I begin to dissociate while staring at (Y/N). All I can think about is the days we spent together during VidCon. How it felt to hold them, to hear their laughter. All of these thoughts make my smile fade, as that hard realization hits me.

+-Your P.O.V-+
You stirred awake from the sound of your phone's alarm going off. Peeking your eyes open, you turn it off quickly and lay back down. You rub your eyes, getting all the gunk out and adjusting to the light. You huff lightly but you we're excited for today nonetheless. You finally decided today was the day you were going to go to the animal shelter.
Reluctantly getting up from your cozy bed, you stretch and scratched the back of your neck. You then walked over to your dresser and began to root through your favorite clothes. Once you had picked out an outfit you liked, you walked over to your bathroom and got ready for a shower.
You did your usual inspection, checking your face for acne, and making sure you had clean towels and washcloths. Once you had finished poking around your own bathroom you finally began to strip down, proceeding to then turn on the water for the shower. After a short time, the water gets to the temperature you desire. You step in and let all your stresses melt off your shoulders. Letting the water work its way through the knots on your back. You had never really sat down in the shower before, but this time you felt compelled to.
As you got into an almost fetal position you just sat there. You didn't know why but you felt tears well up in your eyes. It was at this point that you realized how far in life you had gotten. How many struggles you had been through. The people who stood by your side through it all. It all coursed through you so fast. People are proud of you, people love you, and they care about you so much. Even when nothing seemed like it was ever going to get better, you stand here now. Stronger than ever.
Before you knew it, 20 minutes had passed and your water began to get colder. You wiped off your face and stood up. Cleaning yourself and washing your hair in the now lukewarm water. You sniffled as you finally shut off the faucet and stepped out onto your stone bathmat. You shiver slightly as you grab your towel from the hanger and wrap it around yourself.
Drying yourself off you put your clothes on one by one. Once you had finished you opened the door and walked back to your bedroom, grabbing your phone and looking at the messages. Some of them we're from Twitter, others we're youtube uploads. But a text from Ted was the one that always made you light up.
My Love 💕
"You fell asleep on the phone last night and I couldn't help but take a picture of you. You looked so sweet and peaceful! But anyway, I'm not gonna be super busy today so if you would want to we could call sometime today. :) Love you ❤️"You couldn't help but blush to yourself.
You
":0 taking photos without my permission aye?? I'm kidding lol. I gotta go pick up Link or Zelda today so once I'm done with that we could absolutely chat :)"
"Oh and I love you the most >:P"You chuckle at your own text as you place your phone down, combing out your hair and letting it air dry. You look at the clock on your nightstand and see that it's only 10 am. You had a little while yet before the animal shelter near you opened. So while you had some free time yet you decided that you would eat some breakfast and tidy up the house a small bit.
°•------•°After 2 and a half hours of cleaning and organizing your home, you finally put some shoes on and headed out to pick up your new fur baby. You quickly typed it into the GPS and started up your car. Once google maps had finally loaded everything you backed out of your driveway. The excitement inside you began to rise, you had been wanting a kitten for a while now. Especially being so far away from Ted this would also help ease you a little. You weren't even entirely sure what kind of kitten you wanted. However, it wasn't long until you arrived there.
You walked inside the small office and were kindly greeted by the receptionist. "Hello! What can I help you with today?" She asked kindly. "Oh hi- I wanted to look around and possibly adopt a kitten today?" You said with a small smile, the girl returning an even bigger one. "Alright give me just a few moments to gather up some paperwork and I'll be right with you okay?" She said kindly, you nodded and sat down in one of the waiting chairs.
After what seemed like five minutes she opened up one of the side doors and held it open. "Alright, my name is Sasha, if you're all ready to pick out your new fur baby come with me." She said very cheerily. You stood up quickly and followed. "I never caught your name by the way." She said questioningly. "Oh, it's (Y/N)." You said as you both shared smiles for a moment. You noticed she had a clipboard in her right arm, you assumed it held all the medical papers for each of the animals. "That's a very pretty name, I like it a lot. Oh- and you said you were looking to adopt a kitten correct?" She said opening another door and holding it open for you as you walked past.
You nodded as she spoke again, "We only have a couple of kittens here, but if you would want to look at some of the older cats too that's no problem at all." She said with a wide smile. You both walked down the hallway past all the dogs. Some growled, some barked which honestly scared you for a moment but you regained composure pretty quickly. Eventually, you both made it into the room full of baby kittens and older cats. "Over here is where we have the little babies." She said gesturing to the small kennels. One was a pure black kitten, the other a small siamese and a small grey one. "They aren't from the same litter but they all get along with each other very well," Sasha says as she then gestures toward the older cats. There were about seven of them in total. Looking through you saw several different types. One of them was a Maine Coon with a damaged eye. Another was a sleeping Bengal. A cute exotic shorthair that was licking its paws. A skinny and curious tabby cat that watched you as you walked by. A sweet Calico cat that was playing with its toy. A slightly more aggressive tuxedo cat that tried to swat you from inside their kennel. But there was one that completely caught your eye.
It was a very well-behaved tortoiseshell cat. It looked at you with curious eyes and even meowed at you. In your mind this one seemed like it was the one for you, no questions asked. "Awe Alya seems to really love you," Sasha said while tilting her head slightly. "She usually is a little more hostile towards customers but she seems very calm around you." She continued. You looked over at her with a smile. "I'll take her." You said confidently, Sasha's smile perked up. "Alright. But before that, I want to go over her medical stuff before we get done any paperwork." She says as she then begins to list off the good things about Alya, and then some of the bad things which were that she suffered from anxiety from past owners, she has some slight blindness in her left eye, but other than that seemed to be in very good shape.
After going back into the office you and Sasha go over some of the paperwork that you needed to fill out, give her your payment information and in about 30 minutes or less, Alya was yours. Or should you say, Zelda? Once all the paperwork went through you were able to have your sweet baby. Sasha came through the office door and handed you your new fur baby. She even gave you advice and pointers on what foods she'll need, and what litter to get for her.
Once you left the shelter, kennel in hand with your new baby. You were smiling like a mad man. You put Zelda in the back seat of your car and hopped into the driver's side, excited to go shopping and get new furniture for the baby.
