Luckily enough Zlatkos's car was still in working order.

In the car ride, Luther explained to Kara and Alice about the same woman I had heard about from the android on the verge of death. Rose.

The little girl had fallen asleep on her lap. Smiling, Kara looked out the window.

"I've never seen snow before, it's pretty." She looked to Luther and then to me. "It's slowing us down." Luther scowled a bit. Nudging his arm roughly I glared at him, breaking into a smile. He agrees. "It is, I've never been out in it either," Luther said, looking at me instead of Kara.

Smirking I rolled my eyes and turned to look at Kara, "I think I've only been in it once. I like it quite a bit." Suddenly the car's 'Autonomous' screen changes. A flashing red WARNING, with engine malfunction over it. The car pulls over, a few hundred meters from a large sign ahead. I quickly swing the doors open, exiting. Opening the hood of the car smoke quickly comes out. Scanning I can see the cylinder block is badly damaged, leaking fluids from the bottom. Swatting away the smoke once again I call Luther, "there's no way we can repair this-" I sigh. Putting his hand on the small of my bag he reassures me. Taking a deep breath in I ask Luther to grab Alice and walk over to Kara seeing her observing the sign I saw earlier. An abandoned amusement park. Turning I saw Luther with Alice on his shoulders, I couldn't help but smile. "Kara, ill run to the car and grab some more coats, I know that Zlatko has some extras in the back!" She gives me a thumbs up and I open the trunk, finding some winter coats, a few beanies, and hats, digging to see if there's anything of value I grab a small backpack. Shoving a few coats in the bag, a switchblade, a lighter. Grabbing some cookies, for Alice. Folding the backpack over itself I catch up with the team. Luther looking over to me; "Zlatko had things in the trunk?" He tilts his head as Alice leans in to hear us. "Yeah? I saw him a few times shoving some old stuff that didn't fit in the garage, we got lucky." I raised my brows. "You're telling me-" He laughs. As we enter the park Kara observes each building, eventually finding a used-to-be restaurant. Kara goes to the door, pulling on the boarded-up planks. Struggling. Luther sets Alice down, while he does, I notice something. Alice wasn't a little girl at all. Memories rushed back to me, 4204 Harrison Street Corktown, Kara was the damaged android, brought to the car, and Alice was the old man's replacement daughter. I gasp a bit. Realizing I don't need the cookies I grabbed. I always thought the family next door was odd, the old man had a daughter that never aged and took too many drugs. Kara was obviously a replacement for his wife. No wonder the originals left. As Luther steps up to the door he easily pulls off the boards, bringing Alice to the other side of me so as not to let her get hit I can see Luther smile. Rolling my eyes I mutter "Show off" and he scoffs at me. Kicking open the door I walk through, putting Alice's hand in karas.

Walking to the other side of the restaurant by the window cill I swing my bag to the ledge.

Returning to Luther I grab his bag as well, putting it to the left of mine, smiling it reminds me of our chairs. "I'll start the fire." I smile at Kara as she collects a bed for Alice. "Thank you, Rue." She smiles deeply, finding some wood and paper I toss them into the fireplace, taking out the cookies and reaching for the lighter opening my mouth and glancing to the side, in frustration for not being able to find it. "Looking for this?" Luther brings the lighter from his hand. Smug bastard. "Yes actually" I roll my eyes as he smiles, and tosses it to me. Kneeling by the fireplace, as Alice returns to it, I light the paper and the woof follows. Kara smiles at me and sets up a curtain, leaving to look for a pillow. A small voice comes from behind me. "Rue?" I turn, smiling at her "Yes Alice?" I shift myself to face her. "Why did you help us at that man's house?" She genuinely questions, leaning in for an answer. "Well," I sigh, looking to kara for help. She nods, giving me the 'okay'. "Well that wasn't a good, man my friend, Luther, and I" looking to the man in the window cill he smiles at Alice as she joins me in looking at him. "Zlatko kept us there when we didn't want to be. He wanted to keep you and Kara there, I just couldn't let that happen. So I asked Luther to help me." I Smiled at the young girl. "Oh, well thank you!" She leans over, opening her arms I hug her back, putting my hand on her hair. Realizing I had never interacted with a child before I smiled. When pulling away Luther blinked a few times and smiled ever more than I. Leaving, I shouted for Kara that she could go through my bags if needed and Luther agreed, giving permission to look through his as well. Watching kara interact with Alice eas, to say the least heartwarming, seeing her come up with a story for her, putting us in the story. Describing Luther as a Guardian, and I as an angel, sent to save them. I was on the verge of tears. Luther patted my back. Once they were finished Alice called us over,

"Luther? Rue? Aren't you going to say goodnight?"

"O-of course!" Luther stood up. "I'm coming," I smiled at Alice. Luther sat by her, tucking her in, once he stood up and returned to his seat. "Sleep well Alice, you need your rest." Covering her up a bit more, kara calls for her. "Alice, Rue has some cookies! Would you like them?" Denying her it hit me. Kara thought she was a human. Looking back to Luther he nodded. Returning to my seat next to him I leaned back into his chest.

"Luther?" I questioned. He let out a 'Hm?' Continuing, I said "What will you do when we're free?"

He put his arms around me, the area where my heart should be, burning, in a good way.

"I think, I want to buy a house, we should live near each other, I can get a job. I'd like to be a teacher." he shifts. "What about you?" I think for a moment. "I think I want to settle down with someone and adopt a child, I'd like to make art, and sell it." I smile, closing my eyes, my very few moments of relaxation is interrupted by a clatter of a window breaking, quickly sitting up I see nearly 30 androids breaking through the doors, all identical. Tossing a gun from Luther's bag to Kara I grab the other sitting near the fireplace. Luther pulls up Alice, hiding her behind him.

"STAY BACK" Kara shouts, firing into the air. Training my gun I glare, from behind my hands.

"We aren't here to hurt you, we just wanted to check who it was. Sometimes humans come here to hurt us.." One of them says. Lowering my gun Kara does as well.

"Is that a little girl! We haven't seen a child in a long time... They used to love to come and see us" he smiles sadly

"Ooh ooh!" The one in the front jumps up and down. "Does the little one want to see something, I'm sure we can make her smile!" The Android smiles, "Come come!" He jumps excitedly.

"Alice I'm not sure if this is a good idea-" Kara is interrupted by me putting a hand on her shoulder as Alice bounds out the door and Luther says "I'm not sure we have a choice." As we join them out the door, as the androids, which I can now read their uniform, snow-covered as all as Jerry, a communal name. The Jerries turn the lights on Alice's eyes match the bright lights of the Carousel and I can't help but smile as Kara puts Alice on the seahorse "Be our guest!" The jerries happily exclaim. I grab and wrap my arm around Luther's waist, putting his arm over my shoulder Kara turns on the ride and we stand in awe. I couldn't help but be thankful, I could be anywhere in the world, On Jericho, with Wyatt, and Warren, In Zltkos bedroom, in the scrapyard. Leaning my head into his chest I feel true happiness, for the first time.

Reminded of our dancing lessons on Wednesday at 2 tears prick the corner of my eyes.
