New Research Topic: Morph Forest!

Ollie and Rum set up a tent near the outskirts of Morph Forest while Shirley and Oliver were making a rough outline of the forest as the base of a map.

"The tents all set up. Me and Ollie are also ready to go." Rum said, having taken the Rummy doll back from her old house in mirrorside after the house being freed.

"Great! Now onto the new research topic! Morphs!" Oliver announced pulling a bug net off of his back.

The 4 started off into the dark forest, Shirley riding on Rum's shoulder looking around to see if they could spot any morphs.

"It's incredible that morphs can see in such little lights!" Ollie said squinting to see where he was walking before bumping into a tree.

"Yes, this will make charting a map hard." Oliver said.

SNAP!

A loud sound of a stick breaking could be heard from behind them.

"What was that!?" Rum asked scared.

"Maybe it's a morph! Let's go!", Oliver said dashing off to the sound, Ollie in tow.

Rum quickly followed after them not wanting to be alone.

Oliver stumbled through a bush looking around rapidly. "Oliver can't see it do you?!".

Ollie, Rum, and Shirley all arrived and also looked around.

"Are we sure it was a morph? Maybe other animals live in the forest." Rum suggested looking at the broken stick on the ground.

"Yes, Oliver doubts other animals would be allowed to live here Incase a morph Imitates it." Oliver explained.

CRACK!

Rum slow turned to the sound of the crack in fear of what it might be as the boys looked for any tracks.

In the distance a large animal could be seen darting away than coming closer to the groups location. While the forest gave dark shade for the morphs creatures to hide in it also made it clear what this animal was. A morph that mimicked a animal.

Rum ran away scream Shirley clinging onto her shoulder to not fall.

The boys looked up from their investigating and caught a brief glimpse of the animal before high-tailing it out of there.

Rum stopped behind a tree as the boys ducked into a bush.

"Did we lose it..?" Rum asked out of breath from running.

"Yes, but we need to capture it.. for research." Ollie said.

Rum whipped her head at Ollie in exasperation to even the idea of trying to catch it.

"Oliver agrees, did we leave the rope at the camp? Benjamin taught one how to make a trap to catch animals." *He said he learned it after the house was freed." Oliver explained.

Left with more questions than answers Rum stops questioning them and helps make the trap.

The animal lurks through the forest before spotting a vaguely human shaped figured in the distance. It charges at it and knocks it down. Be a shimmer of light peaking through the tree leaves revealing it was a dummy.

"Now!" Oliver shouts.

The three attempt to pull it up into the air with a snare trap but the animal proves to be to big and only gets the rope wrapped around it's back leg.

It attempts to lunge at the kids again but the other end of the rope is caught on a bush.

They all clammer to run again but end up falling on each other.
They start screaming for a moment before Shirley wriggles her way out of the screaming children before realizing what the animal is.

Shirley tugs on Rum's outfit to get her attention.

The boys by now have stopped screaming and are trying to get up as a terrified rum slowly walks up to it.

The animal lunges at Rum knocking her over.

"RUM!", Oliver shouts.

"EMILIKO IS GOING TO KILL US!", Ollie shouts.

As the rush to help they stop and see that the animal is rubbing it's head against Rum. As it was a bear, or a wolf, it's a dog.

"It was just a big lonely dog!" Rum said translating for Shirley.

"Oh, well at least we caught it!" Ollie said.

"Let's take it back to the house, we can see if it has a soot power!" Oliver says excited.

"Wait- we need a name for the Shadow dog." Ollie said

"Shirley wants to name it Shade." Rum says.

"Then we shall name the Shadow dog Shade!" Oliver said.

The group share a high-five, untangle the dog and start walking off to the outside of the forest.

((Authors note: I totally made up the Shadow dog I was running out of ideas :P))
