max's pov:
i'm sitting on my bed reading a wonder women comic. i hear my brother open the door. a few minutes later my girlfriend y/n comes into my room. no one in the party or my family knows we're dating. it's not widely accepted, but steve and robin know and don't care.

"hey," she says smiling and closing the door behind her. i wave and smile back as she sits on my bed next to me. "i was uhm thinking, we should we- we should tell the party that we're dating," she says waiting for my response.

i look down then back up at y/n. "you know we can't. mikes an asshole, lucas will call bull, dustin is well dustin, and i don't know about will," i say and she looks at me kind of sad.

"i still don't see why."

"you stubborn bastard," i say laughing she smiles too. "we just can't."

"and why not," she asks and i sigh, knowing that she knows and is just trying to annoy me. "oh come onnn," she says poking my shoulder. i smile as i look at her leaning in closer to give her a kiss.

y/n's pov:
as max leans in to kiss me the door opens. "ahhh what?!" i ask annoyed just to see billy standing there.

he stands there for a bit and leaves, "asshat," max mumbles. i laugh and peck her on the lips. i pull away and she pulls me back kissing me for longer. i smile at her as we decide to call el and the other people in the party. hopper answers. not el. we then give up after dustin and lucas don't answer either. we sit back on her bed and watch a movie.

i think about telling everyone about max and i but i don't want to worry her. or upset the party. or anything. i mean steve and robin know but no one else do. i sigh and put my head on her shoulder and think.
