People watched the kingdom burn,
They had fire for breath;
Fear instilled as children learn,
Anger them and see their wrath.Ages and ages hence,
Written by thousands of pen;
We were taught the difference,
Between monsters and men.They spend the money on drunken "cheers!",
Lay forgotten all troth;
Did not see blood, sweat and tears,
Eyes closed like a sleepy sloth.Ages and ages hence,
Written by thousands of pen;
We were taught the difference,
Between monsters and men."It was their fault" is said with a scoff,
A question always, whom to trust?
For most of them are owners of,
Eyes drowned in lucid lust.Ages and ages hence,
Written by thousands of pen;
We were taught the difference,
Between monsters and men.The fight for bread and wine,
Turned into one of claws;
Hoarded as they chanted, 'MINE!'
A pile of bones that gluttony gnaws.Ages and ages hence,
Written by thousands of pen;
We were taught the difference,
Between monsters and men.Each has but no one uses,
Both wrong yet both denied;
As they tend the blood and bruises,
Cries wrapped in painful pride.Ages and ages hence,
Written by thousands of pen;
We were taught the difference,
Between monsters and men.Money, gold and what not,
Became the law, the basic creed;
For there is never 'too much', 'a lot',
All pale against garish greed.Ages and ages hence,
Written by thousands of pen;
We were taught the difference,
Between monsters and men.Everything the owner shows,
'How come I not' they mourn;
Deep in veins, envy flows,
Leaving roses for thorns.Ages and ages hence,
Written by thousands of pen;
We were taught the difference,
Between monsters and men.The monsters, their sins,
I see then all around;
Angels watch as my head spins,
Have my wrists and ankles bound.I have seen the blood on their hands,
The horrible image of what they can;
I want to scream to all of the lands,
There is so much of monsters, so little of men.–Nevaeh
